Any one know why they have done this in only the SP i liked hearing them in the 1st game and also helped finding them as well, the only to machines missing sounds are Circus of Values, Ammo Bandito, would any one know if they could be added back in using the sound files from MP?

I agree. The first time I saw a vending machine in BioShock 2 I smiled like hell, was just so happy to be back in Rapture, and the vending machines always make me happy, so I ran to it and stood there like "Hm?..No sound? :("

I just loved when the machines said like
"Welcome to the Circus of Values!"
"Come back when you get the money, buddy!"
"Don't forget to tell your friends about the Circus of Values!"

I don't know anything about using the files from MP, since I'm playing on the PS3, haven't even tried MP yet, so the sounds are still in MP?

And another thing, there's is still the sound after using the Gene Bank, but it's extremely quiet.

They NEED to add this in a patch, seriously. Even though it's a small thing It really makes Rapture even more special and cool.

AFAIK It was 100% on purpose that those sounds were removed, due to players complaining they were annoying and ruined the atmosphere. So i dont think you can add them either.
Personally, i liked those sounds, and thought it was a bug at first, but no :(

Well, an option to turn them on and off then.
Silent vending machines make me sad. :(

I doubt that it's as simple as adding a sound file back in. The map has to trigger the sound in the first place and that won't be trivial to do - you'd have to hack it.

If you're lucky, it's just a bug and they'll fix it soon. I suggest going on the official Bioshock forum and posing about it there or see if anyone else has already.

Spoiling or not is subjective and I think a switch for it would be appropriate.

The irony of me posting in this thread is that I don't even play the game, as I didn't especially like Bioshock 1.

Switch or even a volume :) :p. And i was on about it spoiling the game due to pocking around adding the triggers if you have not played it that is. At a guess you would see the levels and you would have to hunt around to find all the machines to add the sounds.

They were a annoyance but would like them in BS2 still though. But now them not being in BS2 would seem odd.

But whats even more odd is that people complained so much about them in BS1 they did not add them in SP but they did in MP were there is even more people LMAO.

i think the sounds added to the atmosphere a heap playing with out the sorter wreaks the whole feeling about the game, they were there in the 1st you cant just change that i liked hearing the mixed sounds and i guess those winging fans didn't like what some of the splicers saying were, like why did you burn the roast and the bible love me so, come on these thing made the 1st game just that little better, a on a off would of been great, not all the sound are in the MP think just the Welcome to the Circus of Values i've heard

i liked it if you need heath or some thing i would hear it and follow the music, it made the game what it is today with out it its dull :( hope they add them back in ill replay it just for those sounds and why did you burn the roast theres no rimming any more

edit :D

Hey Cultists -

I need to offer a bit of an apology. There was a question about a month ago on whether the vending machine voices would be returning in Bioshock 2. I answered an emphatic "Yes" because they had indeed been in the game and working just fine for most of production.

It seems like something happened during the final scramble to get the game shipped that turned off the vending machine voices. I don't know quite what broke along the way yet, we are still trying to figure that out. The bottom line is that they are not in the shipped version of the game.

In the grand scheme of things, I know this isn't a huge issue but it is one that I take seriously. I am pretty embarrassed by this and really apologize to you fans as I know how much that it is little things like that really bring Rapture to life. The world of Bioshock is certainly a little less colorful without them. This issue slipped by a lot of people as the game went out the door but ultimately the responsibility here lays with me.

they will return im happy
