Hey all,
I recently came across some old pentium 1 rigs in my shed, and decided to fire them up to see if they still work. One of the boards had some leaking caps, but still worked fine (Bit of a shocker there)
I then decided to have a look at the CPU's. One of the P1's has a heatsink hard-mounted to it (the fan is removeable, but the base of the HS isnt)
Underneath the proc itself, it says Pentium 1 ES.
I compared this against the other proc (Which doesnt have an integrated HS) and it doesnt have the ES branding on it.
Is this actually an ES chip? How would I find out? If so, is it actually worth anything?
I'm thinking of putting together these builds again so I can run a proper DOSBox for my older games. Windows 98, I'm thinking would be nice on it.
Thanks for any info,
Mick.
