UPS left a couple packages outside instead of in my vehicle today (must have been a different driver from the usual one, who knows better). My black lab found the boxes and now I have all of a Xigmatek ACK-I5361 bracket set except three screws, which I can't for the life of me find in the snow, and one completely destroyed Asus P7P55 WS Supercomputer.

I was going to take photos, but I don't want to inflict those graphic images on others.

Enough whining from me though, have you ever had computer stuff destroyed by an otherwise lovable pet? Tell me some stories to make me feel better.:shadedshu

My damn iguana came close. The cat spooked her and she shot inside my computer via the PCI slot that I had cut to fit my water cooler in there. Had to dive for the off button before she electrocuted herself and fried my comp.

Oh don't even get me started on this topic.....

Ok I love my cat but she is no longer allowed in the computer room. She still manages to get in there and it drives me nuts. I have caught my cat using my 17" dell monitor and the window on my case as a scratching post. her hair gets stuck in my filters, one time she jumb on top of my Tempest, didn't quit make it and clawed into it which made some scratches, I was testing an old comp to get it ready for crunching and she jumped in it when I wasn't looking and fried the mobo.! Stupid cat:shadedshu...but she is so cute.;)

Dude. DUDE. omg that sucks! I can't think of anything else to say except I have such a good dog. Abnd thankfully cause she is a huge rott. If it ain't food, she doesn't care to chew on it. If it is food, watch out. But she also listens to me, the alpha.

Anyway the RAM coming in a USPS small flat rate box should fit with rest of mail ok.

Your lab eats parcels?

Why not, my miniature schnauzer eats ups driver's boots...just once. Good thing it was cold and he had boots on. I offered to buy him a new pair, but he declined.:)

@TIGR > Sorry 'bout your screws and d*mn; the MB, too. I guess the Lab is ok. Call NewEgg and/or UPS and explain to them that one of the drivers left the package, it was destroyed by a (not yours, just a) dog, so technically, you never got delivery of the package, just leftovers. Maybe, you will get some nice soul who will help you.:)

@Polarman, yep, she's nine months old so lots of energy, and about 60lbs so no box is too large lol.

@t77, simply put, I would kill that cat. Like my dog, she's lucky she's cute.

@Wrigley, that's good for me, as USPS never leaves packages outside (either in the mailbox or with me personally).

@VIPER, as much as I'd like to do that, I really have to take responsibility. It was my dog and my fault for letting that situation come about. I give her lots of things to play with and usually watch her closely, but today I didn't watch like I should have and apparently the computer stuff looked good. It hits hard for someone with my limited funds but it's my own fault, when it comes down to it.

Just to make the point that it really is my own fault ... I've let Bella play with old computer boxes before, when I was throwing them out anyway. I yelled at her when I caught her going after one with stuff in it, but shouldn't have expected her to know the difference between them and empty boxes. Back in August:

So, I've really got nobody to blame but myself. :shadedshu I just have to be more careful.

Yeah...there is a reason I have had this picture in my photobucket account for a few years now...

It was an opteron 148...

She was still a puppy at the time, and I thought the dinning room table was still out of her reach...I was wrong.

If you have trouble with your cat using your computer, try PawSense.

Hopefully this will cheer you up TIGR, 'cause al least you don't have a cat problem like this.:)

I can't stand dogs just for that reason. Cats are intrigued by boxes, but at least they don't destroy them and their contents. To me, that's enough to warrant giving the dog away.

I feel awful for you. Will it be covered? You can probably try Newegg.

I can't help but think this could have been prevented in some way.

Wow... I've never heard of a dog eating a UPS package. I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation. I feel for you though. That was some expensive hardware for a chew toy. I'd still try and RMA it even if it was your dog. Hopefully the dogs OK and didn't digest anything poisonous.

I love cats, BUT most are hard to train and not as obediant(sp?) like dogs. I have tried tons of methods to keep my cat off my computer stuff, but she doesn't learn.

Small dogs tend to eat just about as much as cats. Dogs don't tend to be as picky with their food either. I have to buy my cat a $25 bag of food a month, and my labs food costs about the same per month. But my dog will eat pretty much anything, my cat is a picky ass.

You still have to get the cat vaccinated once a year, at least I do...

Cats don't smell? The litter box smells sooo bad... I had to buy a damn cat toilet because I got tired of the smell.

And if the dog gets out of the house, she just sits by the door waiting to be let back in, hell that is where she poops so I don't have to clean that up... If the cat gets out, I have to crawl under the deck and find him up in the supports...

I love cats, BUT most are hard to train and not as obediant(sp?) like dogs. I have tried tons of methods to keep my cat off my computer stuff, but she doesn't learn.

I had that problem with the counters and the furniture. Duct tape strips set sticky side up on the things you want to keep the cat off of worked for me. He only had to step on a few of those and get wrapped up in them to learn.
