Corsair memory timings and specifications

Just a heads up I'm brand new to messing with memory timings so thanks in advance.

Mobo: asus m4a79t delux
Cpu: amd phenom II x2 550
Memory: corsair cmx4gx3m2a1600c9

When first installed it read at 1333. I've changed it in bios to run at 1600. Next though I ran cpuz to check timings:

Cl: 11
T
TRCD: 11
TRP: 11
TRAS: 29
TRC: 41
Cr: 1T
Dram frequency: 802.7
Fsb: dram: 1:4

Nb frequency: 2006.7


Has anyone gotten this memory to run with better numbers on this board? What values can I change in bios safely with modest cooling? Let me know if you need more info. Thanks again.

You should really know your memory's specs.

At 1600 those modules support latencies of 9-9-9-24 @ 1.65 volts.

So make these:

Cl: 11
TRCD: 11
TRP: 11
TRAS: 29

Into this:

Cl: 9
TRCD: 9
TRP: 9
TRAS: 24

And make sure the voltage is proper.

Thank you for such a quick response. I knew it was 9-9-9-24 just wasn't sure I could set them safely on this board lol. Should I do anything with trc? Should I keep it 1T or 2T? And what voltage (estimate) do I need? I know as I increase voltage in bios it turs yellow then red as I increase it. Think starts turning yellow at 1.6

Well the RAM requires 1.65 volts for these settings, but it could probably hang with just 1.6 if you're worried or want to be conservative.

You could try a TRC of 38 for starters. 1T should be fine.

and you can set the voltage to 1.65 with no worries, AMD boards/CPU's is not as bad as Intel ix xxx cpu's when it comes to the voltage

i have my XMS3's 1333mhz running at 1444 mhz and 8-7-8-24 atm, and they are rated for 1333-9-9-9-24, and i'm quite sure your's will do something similar
