Curious about audio settings.

Ok so the thing is I sometimes run from my pc 2 amp's instead of just the one however, I don't use any channel besides the standard 2 channel configuration (left and right channel speaker). The problem is when I do this, I have to change the setting's in my sound settings (Realtek HD) as I use the microphone (pink) port, so what I want to know is if there is a way to change the settings automatically for me as it's sometimes a real hassle.

would a "y" splitter work? a 2-to-1 audio connection like this

As long as they a "phono" and not "mono" then yes they are the perfect thing... besides one thing what worries me, will this cause any interference/distortion? as WILL be played at high volumes

Not to my knowledge, they're pretty cheap so if they do it's not a big loss.
