they have always had a high failure rate, cards plagued with problems and a terrible RMA system. they are generally the worst ATI AIB as far as I have seen since all the way back to the 2900 series.

I had an HD4890 running from them that I overclocked like crazy for 6 months or so folding 24/7. I sold it to someone on these forums before I bought this card..still runs nice as far as I know!

Seriously aren't all the reference 5800 cards the exact same? I mean aren't they all made by the same manufacture no matter who puts their sticker on the cover?

I use 2 Diamond 5850's that are excellent. Great clockers and run pretty cool. I never heard of this high failure rate with Diamond. Must of been a particular run. Generally though, they are usually simple reference designs with minimal packaging. One of my cards has no "D" sticker on the fan, just an ATi sticker.

The Foxconn company builds some great product's.... The guy i sold mo Foxconn mobo is actually the one taking me 965 c3 in the morning... He's been the 3rd owner and never any problems... He loves the board. I in the other hand hated the bios but ever still a great product :p

I think Foxconn is the largest electronics manufacture in the world. They make mobos for Intel, Apple, X-Box 360, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii.... the list goes on and on.

Basically I joke that when I'm not sure who makes something... Foxconn made it.

Diamond is an ATi veteran

I've used Diamond on and off for a decade. They used to manufacture all FireGLs and "Built by ATi" stuff. I think Sapphire has the "Built by" job now, but don't quote me on that. I've never had a problem with Diamond products, but I've heard many horror stories about their support regarding defective cards and MIRs. Overall a decent brand if you want reference spec, IMO.

Edit: I must add that I have a non-reference Diamond HD 3850 at the moment. It's my first non-reference Diamond and I bought it 2/08 and been beating it up since. Only issue I have with it is that it doesn't OC over 700 core with 100% stability. I honestly cba to voltmod this design. It's always done it's job.
