Can someone please refresh my memory and tell me again what's the command line used in nVFlash to flash your GPU BIOS? I'm using nVFlash v5.88. I had the command line saved in a .txt file but I think I might have deleted it sometime ago. Thanks! :)

nvflash -b bios.rom
to pull the bios from the card

nvflash bios.rom
to flash the bios to the card

If you have more than one card...

nvflash --list
to see what cards you have and what index they've been assigned

nvflash --index=x bios.rom
to flash to a specific card in a multicard system, where x is the index number from the nvflash --list command

nvflash -f bios.rom
to force flashing, you probably don't need this

no probs heres a small guide and iso i made up makes thing alot easier it has the newest nvflash v5.93.01 and it will start a standed flash for you.

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=1669120#post1669120

Thanks, but I already have a bootable ISO image that I downloaded from Bootdisk.Com! I'm also a registered UltraISO Premium User. It's the only program I use for all types of disc images! ;P

My EVGA GTX 275 1792MB Video Card should be arriving any minute now. I just want to flash the BIOS on it to run at the same clocks as my MSI GTX 275 Lightning 1792MB Video Card so that they'll both be identical when I run them both in SLI.

nvflash -b bios.rom
to pull the bios from the card

nvflash bios.rom
to flash the bios to the card

If you have more than one card...

nvflash --list
to see what cards you have and what index they've been assigned

nvflash --index=x bios.rom
to flash to a specific card in a multicard system, where x is the index number from the nvflash --list command

nvflash -f bios.rom
to force flashing, you probably don't need this

Thanks man, I didn't even know about those other commands for nVFlash! :)

I just got the EVGA GTX 275, but when I try to read its BIOS in NiBiTor 5.4, I get this error??? I've also gotten the exact same error when I tried to read my MSI GTX 275 Lightning BIOS.

You have two options...

Boot to nvflash and use the nvflash -b command

Try using GPU-Z... there's a little clickable microchip with a green arrow coming out of it next to the thing that says BIOS revision. It will spit out a .bin file, but nvflash doesn't use .bin. W1zzard says you can simply rename it to a .rom and it will work, but I prefer opening it in NiBiTor and saving it as a .rom because I'm anal. Actually, I prever using nvflash to get the BIOS off the card...

I created a bootable USB flash drive and placed the nVFlash files along with my original and modified BIOS.rom files in it. But I can't boot into it??? The only option I'm able to select in my BIOS as the first boot device is, Removable (which I tried), Hard Disk, CD ROM, and Other (which I tried as well).

your usb stick should so up under HDD in the ESC boot menu and you will get a error if you don't add the dpmi folders

Stop, before you hurt yourself. You should never flash a BIOS from one vendor (like an MSI card) to another (like an EVGA card). If you're going to flash a BIOS, get the bios from that specific card using nvflash -b, edit it, and re-flash it.

Look in your USB options in your BIOS. My board has something called USB emulation or something, I set it to HDD, then I boot from it.

Well, I don't think I can boot from my USB drive. But I downloaded your nVFlash.iso file, placed my BIOS.rom in it using UltraISO, then burnt it onto a disc. But when I booted into it, I get an I/O Error message saying it can't read the bios.rom file??? Do I also need to add the nVFlash files to the ISO?

Stop, before you hurt yourself. You should never flash a BIOS from one vendor (like an MSI card) to another (like an EVGA card). If you're going to flash a BIOS, get the bios from that specific card using nvflash -b, edit it, and re-flash it.

No, I didn't switch up the BIOS's. I simply modified my EVGA BIOS to have the same clocks as my MSI card. I'm not going to flash my EVGA card with my MSI BIOS, LOL

I don't have any USB options in my BIOS that I can select.

This was so much easier when my floppy drive was still working. :(

I guess I'll just get myself another floppy drive, they're not expensive at all anyways and it'll make it a lot more easier.

hey man if you play your usb drive in and reboot does it come up in Hard Disk Boot Priority? i download the guide for your board and i see you cant boot from usb only FDD, maybe try the windows version then http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1776/NVFlash_5.91.0.1_for_Windows.html

Yeah man, I was originally trying to boot up with it connected to my HP printer's multi-card slot, but it wasn't showing up. So I connected my 3.5" multi-card reader drive and connected it directly to my board's USB header and I was able to select my memory card from the hard disk boot priority menu. All is well now, I successfully flashed my EVGA card BIOS to match up with my MSI card! :)
