Can this mobo unlock cores???

I was looking at the asrock site about this mobo but i didnt find it can unlock cores. Anyone knows for sure?

Yes, it can potentially unlock cores (It has ACC). I found some people (In reviews/forums/newegg reviews) talking about successfully unlocking cores on this board, as well.

Skim over the reviews, you'll see several reporting unlocked cores and in some cases cache.

Do not base your purchase on unlocking cores. Even if the motherboard supports ACC there is no guarantee that the processor itself will be stable enough with the unlock.

If you are short on money just buy the Athlon II X4 as it has four cores already.

You'd be better off with a Athlon II X4 with a cheaper motherboard, than a expensive motherboard with ACC and Athlon II X2/X3 that doesnt unlock well.

Saying that though the Athlon II X3 is a great processor and I completely recommended it, just do not base the purchase on a potential unlock

Well this mobo was the cheapest am3 mobo i found. That is why i was asking about the unlocking the cores. I just need only one pci-express slot, but cannot find one which fits best to me. I mean low price, ddr3, one pci-ex 2.1, good bios, at least 3 sata II etc. Normally i am trying to find a mobo with only one pci-express slot, cuz i only have one external card and i wont need anymore than this. Having only one slot makes the price drop and you can have more features in more space. Does anyone have a good suggestion about a mobo for me???

0lease bear in mind that better mobos can have better chance of unlocking. Cant remember where I read that tho.

I dont really think so, really. It is just bios and it has not to do with the mobo.
But this is my opinion...

If the motherboard has the ACC function it can unlock. After that it's all up to the CPU and the motherboard doesn't matter.

For AM3 find a motherboard based on the 785G/780GX Chipset as they are probably one of the cheapest high-midrange boards.

Remember you do not need a AM3 motherboard, you can find a cheap AM2+ motherboard and keep your existing DDR2 memory and hence shaving off the costs which can be put into a better video card or processor. For a cheap AM2+ motherboard I would recommend the Nforce 8200/8300 chipset and 780G chipset.

But this is my opinion...

There is no such thing as a garenteed unlock, whether the board is a cheap board or an expensive board if the hidden processor's core are damaged it will not be 100% stable.

My bad, I didnt realise your PC was that old. It must be a socket 754 Semrpon. Just sell it, motherboard, video card, ram processor on ebay!

In that case shoot for the AM3 motherboard, asI said before the 780G/780GX Chipsets are decent on a budget.

Yes. It is a socket 754 and i am still using it for more than 4 years. Well, i bought the rig for 320$ at that time and it was a steal
Now i am waiting for some steal too

You'd have to be more specific, what do you consider a low budget?
What is your maximum resolution?
Which games are you playing?
How long does this rig have to last?

Your not from the UK, America or Canada so its hard for me to understand how much components are worth where you are.

I'd say on a budget you are force to go AMD.

780/785 motherboard
Athlon II X3 or X4. Phenom II X4/X6 if your budget stretches
Atleast 4 GBs DDR3 ram, 1333MHz -1600MHz, branded
Atleast a ATI 5750/5770 at minimum. ATI 5850 if your budget stretches

Post some builds with some prices and we'll tell you what to keep or remove.
