I have an ECS X58 Black I got from fits and it is a rock solid board. It has been crunching for the past year 100% load 24/7 @4.0Ghz without fail.

As Fits has already mentioned all ECS really needs is better BIOS updating.....
Ive always had good experiences with ECS boards...
I wouldn't recommend the bottom line boards but their mid and upper boards have always been fairly decent IMO...

I still have a 3-4 year old PC with an ECS RS-400 Intel board that has been running solid since day 1 I just recently upgraded it from DDR1 to DDR2 and from an AGP ATI 9550 to a PCI-E 1800xl...LOL it makes a great spare parts system

This is the board i had. ECS Geforce 6100pm-m2 (VER 3.0), AM2/AM2+/AM3
This board had no OCing settings in the bios beside memory and you can do slight OCing in Nvidia Ntune software but it only went about 50-75mhz before it BSODed.

and not get Nvidia chipsets for AMD...

AMD works best with AMD Plus the 6100 chipset is limited to 2000MT/s a 5200MT/s chipset would likely do way better

Hope these are good boards that OCs well. Good for ECS indeed. Look at MSI, way back then, I had the impression they are for entry levels in the ranks of Jetway, Redfox etc.. Hope ECS follows as well

looks like ECS is making some good stuff for enthusiasts!

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1331/1/

because their like vultures & they know DFI who once made enthusiast boards are on the verge of death (or currently in limbo - with no members of staff willing to confirm the rumours or explain whats going on behind the scenes) well at least ECS got plenty of space to muscle in on the market.

Abit = defunct
DFI = on the way out.

the last hurdle really is if their boards can take on Asus or Gigabytes boards - 2 of the biggest names in the mobo market

I had a setup with the ECS KA3-MVP board and to this day I would have to say it was my 2nd favorite board(2nd behind the Abit KR7A-RAID). Even though it had the CAS Lat couldn't be changed issue I never once had issues with the board.

ECS P67H2-A, I will have to remember this name.
Wow 24usb ports, I almost take that as a challenge. :)

Something about seeing a rep looking around the Forums makes me think good things about a company...Specially when it's a company I like
Truth be told when I upgrade to a new platform I usually go with ECS
Price and quality is always the determining factor and when you consider that it's nearly impossible to beat ECS...

My next board is gonna be a Black Series board

 Overclocking using a knob on the motherboard with 9 positions?

Sounds nice...

haha.... a literal OC knob.

i been using that term for years to describe how simple it is to OC certain things.

nah, not as cool as the MSI790fx slick OC knob. Easy to OC and it maintains the OC after restarting or resuming from S3.

I have 3 ECS boards (2 black edition ones) run perfect for years now.

Agreed. I haven't used an ECS board in a professional build for a while and after this thread will be taking a good look at their products.

Thank you for posting, Vin. :toast:

Sweet! I've worked with a couple different ECS boards in the past... I cant say theres much to fault for the low price they charge. :D
