Intel Core i7 875k - $309 after $20 Newegg Gift Card! $199@MicroCenter!

Intel Core i7-875K Lynnfield 2.93GHz 8MB L3 Cache ...

It is $250 cheaper then a standard 870 with the locked multiplier! I hope Intel keeps this trend of cheap unlocked CPUs up.

Edit: I can confirm that these are $199.99 at MicroCenter, IN STORE ONLY. I just bought one about an hour ago.

I ordered one and then noticed the gift card, so I don't think you can use that $20 off, or I screwed myself. And for me that price would be the same as getting it at my local MC.

There's a thread over at HardForum about the 875K being $199.99. It doesn't show up on MC's website but maybe you can call/go and ask for us.

You can't use the $20 towards the purachase of the processor. It is like a mail-in rebate, except instead of filling out a bunch of paperwork and waiting 6-10 Weeks, you get it automatically after 30 days, and you can only use it at newegg. For people like me that are ordering shtuff from newegg every other day, that is $20 in my pocket, so considered $20 off the price of the processor.

I just called the MicroCenter near me and they did say they are honoring the $199.99 price in store only, they removed the listing from their site though. I think I might take a drive over there tomorrow and pick one up if they are still available.

I tend not to go there any more since I've had one car totaled on my way back from there one, and almost totaled another one going there my last time. Oddly enough, I know a few people in the area and head that way kinda often with out issue.

man this is a sweet deal im wondering why though, makes no sense for intel at all?? maybe they are pushing 1155 out faster than planned and getting rid of these i7's fast or they are liquidating 45nm to use up 32nm?? just odd they would make a chip better than the 870 for $200 less. kicking my own ass for not waiting!

I can definitely confirm the $199.99 price at Microcenter, because I just drove up there and bought one. I was debating on doing so, but I had a client need some support in the same area as the store, so it was like a sign from above that I should...

I think the deal might be over, plus it was an error IIRC, and they stopped listing it, but would honor that price if you knew about it, something like that, newtechie knows more since he got his there, I got mine of Newegg for the same price as it would have been local before I knew about the deal.

Clearify the MicroCenter Deal:

They released an ad featuring the 875K for $199.99. However, the ad was supposed to have the 655K for $199.99 not the 875K, they just put the wrong processor in, and no one caught it. The ad was good from Jun-7 to Jun-20.

Now, I called the Microcenter closest to me on Jun-7 and a nice guy on the phone said they had 17 in stock at $199.99. I went there Jun-9, and the processor was marked $399.99. The first guy I asked about the $199.99 said he didn't know anything about that, he'd have to ask. Whom ever he went and asked confirmed that they were honoring the $199.99 price. So he took it up to the register and told the guy ringing me up to do an override for $199.99 due to the error. The guy at the register said there is no need to do an override, the manager had some kind of meeting with them and it is just in the system at $199.99(explains why I was told $199.99 on the phone and not $399.99). So it seems that, even if you don't know about the deal, they are giving it to people, because that is what the processors ring up as right away.

AFAIK, they are still honoring the deal, and will through the 20th.
