Thermaltake Readies V9 BlacX Edition Case

Thermaltake, leading DIY chassis brand, is introducing the world's first mid-tower chassis with integrated dual bay docking station for handy easy-swap of 3.5" and 2.5" SATA drives right from the top of the case. Users can handle data access and transfer on-the-go without the need to install their harddrives or having to add an external docking device. The color-coded (blue) USB 3.0 SuperSpeed connector in front of the case makes it most convenient to connect the latest USB 3.0 devices without having to crawl behind your case under the desk. Another USB 2.0 connector as well as HD audio microphone and earphone jacks on the top put all major multimedia connectors right in your hand's reach. The toolfree, all black Thermaltake V9 BlacX Edition offers a total of 10 bays for maximum storage expansion and 7 PCI expansion slots.

As characteristic for Thermaltake chassis, special attention had been paid to optimized ventilation and airflow. Therefore one 23 cm exhaust Silent fan on top and another 12 cm exhaust TurboFan in the back warrant that heat dissipated by the CPU is immediately blown out of the case. The drive cage for five hidden 3.5" drives is rotated by 90 degrees as to allow users direct access and easiest toolless installation, while a 12 cm intake fan with blue LED light effect right in front of the cage makes sure that the harddrives are continuously cooled down at all times. The V9 BlackX Edition is also ready for liquid cooling setups with two holes for 1/2", 1/8" and 1/4" water tubes in back. Further airflow is created by 2 pre-drilled ventilation hole areas on each side panel of the case.



The feet elevate the V9 BlacX Edition high enough as to allow for improved ventilation of the bottom based ATX PSII power supply. To avoid outside dust to find its way into your power supply a removable and cleanable dust filter is positioned underneath, providing users with an easy way to keep it clean.

The V9 BlacX Edition mid-tower with the world's first dual bay top docking station chassis and USB 3.0 SuperSpeed connector will be available in August 2010 for a suggested retail price of US$ 99.

Looks nice though I really hope build quality has improved with thermaltake, I dont rate their cases at all, my last was a soprano, that looked nice (at the time) though was flimsy as hell.

I've used the original v9 in a friend's pc and I didn't like it, the big fan on top broke and the chassis isn't sturdy enough. This extras are fine, but is not a great tower.

i have the original V9 its an ok case with 4 glaring issues. The four honeycombed triangle shaped vents let WAYYYYYY too much dust and dog hair in

Looks like the typical tower with yet another novelty thats not usually a must have which appears to be their main focus making me wonder on the thought put into the rest of it. The ventalation..etc looks pretty typical of many other cases in the price range these days.
I'd rather see more novelties into wire management/concealment and new ways of accessing various hardware, similar to what Apple has done with cases before. But at least it doesnt look like an Alien Borg Space ship or armored gundam battle. lol

just not much innovation and designs in cases too often. The best case innovations i saw in recent past was the BlackBird 002 or even the Firebird while looking sleek on the outside but you can't just buy the case though.

I haven't been a fan of some of Thermaltakes new cases, but this one looks pretty nice. Still not a fan of the screwless stuff, but it still looks pretty alright. The thing that really attracts me to it is the hard drive docks. That is cool.

Still wouldn't buy it though. After being spoilt by the superior engineering in my Lian Li, I just can't put up with any other case now.

the screwless on the v9b is pretty crap. wouldn't support my old 4850 and when i upgraded that to a gtx260 had to remove the pci slot tooless clamp to actually get the card in. Though apart from that and the non filtered vents the normal V9 aint bad

My Thermaltake V3 Black can fit a HD5970 (But it renders a couple of HDD slots unusable), so I imagine this one should fit one as well (Distance between the rear of the expansion slots and the HDD cage in the V3 is 31cm, the HD5970 is 30.9cm).

Hell way cases are having hotswap now, might aswell Incorporate a Sega/Nintendo Cartridge Slot and the software for playing those games along with the Disk Games from all the consoles, and then the Ideal Controller, Sega Genesis D-Pad, Dreamcast Analog Stick and Triggers, 6 buttons on the face, Make them for Different Size Hands (Dreamcast Controller Fit Perfectly, then the XB S type, lol

the original v9 isnt good, its waaay to flimsy, the plastic is bad quality.

i had one of them, the top broke off the first time i lifted my case :shadedshu

If it's build any thing like the older Armor case it be like a tank.
