Hey there everyone ,
I carry my laptop round with me a lot, but this old one has several things wrong with it and I'd like a replacement. It has one of the most common integrated gpu's I believe, the Intel x3100. I have always regretted that I didn't buy one with a dedicated graphics card, as it can really only play the most basic of games.
So, I was wondering, how much would I have to pay to get a laptop with capable gaming performance? I don't want anything great, but just to be able to play the majority of games would be nice, even if it's not on particularly high graphics settings. I.E. at the moment I'd really like it if Supcom2 worked on this laptop, but whereas it loads and displays fine, the framerate is (unsurprisingly) too low to be playable .
I don't have an exact budget but basically it's as low as I can get something competent for, ideally, as I'm a pretty poor student . So, as an example of one I've seen (that you will probably rip apart ) there's this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/182582 with an ATI 4570. How powerful exactly would that be? My desktop gaming pc has a 4850 so obviously I'm not expecting anywhere near that power, but would it be able to play the majority of games on low/medium settings maybe?
Thanks a lot for your help; I'm really not an expert on this. If you have any links, UK ones would be appreciated but no worries if not.
