If you haven't played this game in a while it is great. I have played them all and as a free game I have to say at ultra high setting it looks very good. I just started playing again and don't have a manual but it seems very fun. I like runes of magic but D&D online looks unreal on high. If anyone knows of another free game thats better let me know.

i find most free to play games, lack in content or in gameplay. Also i cant stand cash shops in some of the free to play games. If you want the very best experience you always have to pay.

Well nothing is truely free and should it be? One thing D&D online doesn't lack is content. The best model is Guild Wars but thats what I think.

You gotta keep in mind that DDO launched as a standard MMO with a subscription fee. It is F2P, but there's a lot of content in the game.

I played it for a while, it was pretty good and the graphics were great if I remember correctly.

yea you do realize that unless you pay u only get access to 80 quests out of 200 + aka less then half the games content in its free form

If I remember correctly isn't DDO also getting another visual upgrade with DX11, sharper textures and what-not? Dunno if that'll affect the free version or if it's already out, but I do recall DDO looking very good for free...but as trt said, Guild Wars' model for mmo kicked ass. That was the only mmo I played from start to finish and truly enjoyed, and also (at least when I played) had the most adult or mature players around. I'm not an mmo fiend, but if there is one that strikes my fancy and it's really good and the community rocks, I'll be hooked. Might have to give DDO another run soon, just downloaded Runes of Magic...but have yet to try it...

They upgraded to ultra DX10 and 10.1 on D&D from DX9. You have the option to run DX9 still as well and it looks good too.

I loved D&D. Played it for a long time when it was subscription based. When I tried to go back to play the FTP version, I found that I couldnt log into my character because he is a monk. and a dark elf. sigh!

dungeon crawls are great, though. they actually require STRATEGY (leroy jones' strat will lead to death).

I really like the game and will try LOTR on line first aswell before I decide which one is better. I still don't know why D&D didn't use the Forgotten Realms world it would have been better and would have been nice to visit Icewind Dale or the Snowflake Mountains and the Great library etc.....
