So as some of you may know I upgraded the most part of my rig recently but all I'm lacking is a new PSU and GPU, I've got a PSU lined up so that's not a problem however I would like help on choosing a new graphics card within a budget around/close to £150

The one I have in mind is a XFX HD 5830 for £158, but is there any better performer's for around the same price?

As a proud ATI HD 5850 crossfire owner........

At £150 get a GTX 460 768Mb - no competition at that price (but a 1Gb version will be £30 more)

Yeah, at this point in time get the GTX 460. Best bang for your buck and really overclockable.

yep go for GTX460 1 GB version or for better performance just buy HD 5850, don't bother with that HD 5830 crap.

PSU, the heart.. NEVER, buy cheapos... learn to spot differance between good 650W and bad one. The good one lets you do SLI GTX 460...the poor one burns and might take components at same time.

So...I said 650W coz it'll cover SLI GTX460...and thats my suggestion, not TWO but one for starters..and YES...take the cheap 768MB...I dunno why nvidia made more changes..its not ONLY mem differing...

As an HD 5830 owner I say get the 460. Honestly, had I even remotely pondered the remotest possibility that Nvidia was going to be releasing a quality $200 card I would have waited.

On the other hand I got a good deal on my HD 5830. It was $195 (£124) and it came with a free 8GB OCZ jumpdrive. Overclocked it's only a few fps behind the 5850 in most games.

IMO, spend the extra wad and get the 1GB version of the 460. A lot of games can and will need that much vram.

I agree with everyone else, get the GTX460, very good price/performance ratio. You won't be disappointed.

Yes I agree the GTX 460 is a good bet. After reading the SLI'ed GTX 460 vs GTX 480 review over at Tom's Hardware I have to say I'm impressed and wish I would have waited instead of buying my GTX 480. kinda ;)

Well look's like you've all persuaded me to go for a GTX460 and I've got my eye on a 1Gb version, EVGA GTX 460 to be exact priced at £170 maybe that will come down in a week or two depending on when exactly I sell my old part's.
