cant wait to get this card... i do wanna change the thermal paste as soon as i get it tho... probably to ceramique or something like that... maybe get the high flow bracket.

I was thinking about getting the 5850 but 1. the prices are wayy too high. 2. 470 with new drivers performs like a 5870. 3. Better tesselation performance.

one thing i did notice in the reviews is that the card tends to fall down a bit faster than normal as the rez scales. Im hoping that this is something that dx11 will fix, once all the optimizations are in...

These cards have same mounting spacing as older nVidia cards right (G80)? Has anyone tried putting a Arctic Cooler that fits a G80 on to one of these?

I wouldn't mind selling off my 5870 and getting a couple of these with the rebates and promos going on but the noise is the problem. I can play BC2, Borderlands, etc all day for hours and the fan never gets audible. Always below 40% and never over 75C (usually below 70C). Room is always ~24C so its not like I'm in an ice box.

Yep, mounting is the as for G80. I'm using the retention plate I made for the MCW60 when I had my G80 based 8800GTS.

The gpu is closer to the bracket. I doubt an AC would fit.

The dual turbo AC cooler does not fit the 470. I have this non used AC here and it is impossible, unless you make a custom plate like Largon says. (Largon, do you mind to tell how you did it? Thanks!)

reason I went for the 470 over the 5850 was the minimum frame rate, it's much better on the fermi based gpus imo. that and I coulg get both for around the same cost so why not go for the faster card?

Yep that too, i saw a review on older drivers where that was true. Nvidia always had better mins for me... IMO like GTX 260 v 4870 and now I also see reviews with the 470 v 5850. Eventually i will go back and try an AMD card, but their drivers are a drawback for me. I see alot of complaining ab them.

Also when I had my 4870 i remember having to mess with them WAYYY more than the nv package.

Well I guess Fud is reporting that a "full" G104 will be out after the 470 is gone so I might just wait around.

Though I guess it has a little narrower bus so I'm not sure right now. Maybe if someone puts them down to about 250 again.

You can run/activate SLI w/o bridges. It wont scale as well but it does still work
