Proposed new rig, thoughts?

Might sell my pc and have been thinking of going back to intel, also really fancy a GTX460 here is my proposed new build, the only downside I can see is the 13 530 compared to my 550 unlocked to x4, though I should be able to get the 530 upto 4ghz and hyperthreading should also provide a bit of a boost, what do you think?

I'm a little worried you might be bottlenecking the 460 with that i3, maybe not. I'd spend an extra $30 and get the i3 550. The best price/performance CPU in the 1156 market is the i5 750!

Well I possibly could though would have to then maybe drop the GTX1gb and grab the 768mb and also drop the 1TB for a 500gb to save a few more £s off though for gaming and general usage the i3 will be more than fine for my needs until I feel the need for better and that will probably be an i7 8** chip

I would go i5-760 with that RAM and GPU. i3's are great and over-clock nicely, but the 530 has half the cache and half the physical cores of the 760. They're not that much more expensive but you get a lot more longevity out of them, plus they over-clock like a beast.

The 460 is a beast though. I have two in SLI at the moment, and they're little demons. Palit models are nice too, but look for the new MSI cyclone model with it's awesome custom cooler.

Its £70 more than the i3 ($105) so its a fair bit that I just dont have, also the i3 530 at 4.0ghz should easily perform on par with my pII in gaming and general use from what I have seen, the difference will be negligible. I will be getting an 8 series i7 later on if I feel the need to upgrade, though my rigs maybe only last 8-10months before I get bored and replace the whole thing :\

Complete nonsense? at least explain your post otherwise it could be taken as trollbait. I completely understand it is not that much of an "upgrade" with the i3, though that said, I should be able to build this rig solely with the money i get from selling my current rig, and if thats the case then i get a nice upgrade on the ram, PSU and more importantly the GPU. CPU wise I may even lose a bit of performance though I dont tax my ststem that hard anyway so it will not be noticed/missed.

Also as pointed out above i normally end up swapping rigs out every 8-10 months anyway, I cant help it, just get bored

That £420 could have got you little more than the CPU motherboard and RAM
