UK to pay 68% more for Office 2007 then counterparts in the USA

I wasn't trying to be a prat... But the (closet) mathematician in me jumped at that...

lol dont worry. Im supposed to be taking an Economics degree with 2 advanced maths modules. So its actually embarassing.

Well if your brainy enough to get to go to uni, im sure you will do well in life! ;)

It's just direct and indirect proportion. Where 1.175 or 1/1.175 is the constant. Some people would see it as part of a compound interest, but it's not really.

apples pears and oranges, dont us brits love being ripped off by micro$haft. no doubt they will be reported to the EU trade commission over this and quite rightly so

LOL eventually i wouldnt be supprised to see if it is cheaped being fined for piracy than to buy microsofts products

This isnt Microsofts fault, you can blame retailers in Europe. Microsoft has the same bulk software sale prices for everyone, retailers in Europe always set their price to the MSRP in USD, which almost always translates to Europeans paying more.

omg thats unfair i would rather go to usa and get it ther than pay a whopping 600 quid but i dont really need it

Why not just do it for cigarettes or booze? Youll make more money. Oh wait, theyre both illegal.

edit: lol, id like to see your firm take on microsoft and hm customs&revenue in a legal battle.

I thought Booze at least was just about to become legal?, certainly from the EU to the UK. Shit this is getting even more off topic now!

Good point, I cannot remember from the first post how much it costs in US$ in the states but many UK airlines are offering £200 return specials to New York, I am guessing here but it really would probably be cheaper to fly to the states at the moment and buy it.

ohhhh and whislt we are there, we can also but a Jaguar car and save 28.5% on the UK retail price!

Lol, I bought my Ms Office 2000 "Premium" edition (4 CD's) in Kuwait back in 1999 for 1 Kuwaiti Dinar......£2 as there were no copyright laws there at the time, things have changed now though.

Strangely enough, I work for a National Charity and our Area Volunteer Chairman who recently retired at 47 was the European and Middle Easter Senior Vice President for Microsoft, he only finished last year and he will be in the office tomorrow so I am going to have a chat with him!
