I visited TPU 3yrs ago and was pleased with the GUI. I feel it's so easy on the eyes and a great site to navigate. I then realized what a great community this is and made it my only forum visited. This is truly the best bunch of tech-heads on the internet!

I believe my first ever post was in the "Your PC ATM" thread. The good thing about the thread is (FIH) The Don lives there; along with others; and they're always posting questions and positive comments about other people rigs.
I can imagine I'm not the only person whose made their first post in that thread, and when it's your first post and you get instant replies and direct conversation, it makes you want to come back.

Makes me smile that I thought of making that thread everyone seems to enjoy still to this day. Before that we mostly focused on what the after effects were in the case gallery. A great place to do all of the above as you said!

I love TPU, its a very well laid out site. I enjoy the reviews and mods people do here.
I used to post in techimo years ago I left that failboat when I came across TPU. I changed my account a few times here but I rather enjoy the news, reviews and the posts.

A clan member from FEAR led me to TPU a few years back to view his case mod, thanks Pentastar111. I lurked in the shadows for a few months just soaking in all the awesomesauce and good info there was to find surfing the site. Then I emerged from the darkness like I knew what the hell I was talking about and started posting. Been a fun ride. Great community and fun people (for the most part).

@ erocker.... I feel your pain brother. I have been on the "quit smoking" bus also. I am 3 weeks into my Chantix regiment. Ive been doing 'ok' I guess. Only two fist holes in the walls so far. :banghead:

What first did it for me was just how active it is. I think my first post was a thread starter with a question* and the responses came in thick and fast and were very helpful. Awesome. :rockout:

Oh and of course, we have great mods here. :toast:

I've left several forums now, because the site admin and mods were jerks with an ego complex, but not here. What makes the difference? It's not simply never having a run-in with someone. If you never do, then how do you know what it's like when times get tough?

Nope, I've had a few disagreements with other posters and mods, but heck, each and every time it was sorted out amicably and positively. Respect. :respect:

This is quite a rare thing to find on the internet.

Oh and finally, that great thanks button! It really does help to foster good relations. You can tell I like clicking it...

That card was my favourite lemon (sheesh, just the noise it made in 2D mode, let alone 3D mode and the disappointing performance) and I still have it to this day, out of sentimental value. Tell ya what, 1GB RAM had lots of epeen value back then. :laugh:

At least the physical design looks very nice.

Any other old soldier who wants to take a trip down memory lane.... easiest way to do it is to go to advanced search function, type in your user name, then to the left select as shown in the attached pic and your oldest post will be first on the list................

My first nvidia card was an FX5200 way back in 2003 and it played Unreal Tournament 99 quite well. I thought that card was quite good until I wanted to play anything a bit more taxing and I started reading the reviews... :laugh:
