Just RMA'd an X1900XTX and it was refunded as there are no more to be had...

What do you think... should I go for the ATI X1950XTX at $399? I'm going nuts trying to justify that eye candy.

I doubt there will be any native DX10 games till mid next year (am I wrong?) and I'm not going to shell out $600 for an 8800.

Take X1950XTX or X1950XT (256MB for only app. 250USD) and prepare yourself for the comming R600, (the competition and the next revisions will decrease the prices) :).

Ahh... you've got something there, I didn't even look at the XT version.

Obssessive here... I originally wanted to just upgrade my video and ended up with a Core2Duo at 3.6Ghz, LOL. Now all I need is a good graphics card.

Yea, with Vista and DX10 Looming, it's a *@&#! tough one alright.

it's tough to justify spending all this money on a good PC when its all gonna be low grade garbage a year after you get it!

Sasqui. Go for the X1950 XT. Will do just fine.
Overclock it a bit and you have a kick ass card.:D

Maybe a X1950 Pro. Cheap as hell. Great card
Best bang for the buck.

isnt that how it always is tho?? outdated in less then a year....as for me my rule is i dont worry about buying something that doesnt even exist yet...

i usually buy the last model before the new releases.....when it drops in price b/c of newer product...thats the best time to buy...x1950 line will drop in about 30 days with the release of the R600...then in 6 months that line will drop b/c of something new (R620,R680) so you only have about 6-8 months to justify your purchase of something that expensive..

go for the x1950pro or even the x1800gto for now and save the rest for summer and purchase the R600 then......maybe by then ati will have released their physics and that x1950pro will still do you some good....:rockout:

Yeah but if you are doing it legal then you will spend all your saved pc money on those Xbox 360 games. That is where the profit is coming from.;)

x1950pro is the way to go...

There is a line on the card which makes it east to cut off and make it a perfect fit for a PCI slot:D

Mod spam ftw??? Should i get one? I originally wanted to get 2x HIS X1950 PROs TURBO ICEQ 128mb GDDR3. Only shit thing is that HIS's X1950 is downright ugly. Sapphire or HIS?

It was a joke..... because I didnt know he didnt have a crossfire board. 2 X1950pros will out run the x1950XTX/ I would go with Connect3D they use high grade memory and use ATi coolers.

You could always get a 8800 GTS for around $400, might not be faster but is DX10

Here's one for $440 - $20 rebate at Newegg

Dell recently had it for $381 without rebates as described here

Rhino you have HUGE headroom in that 1800XT yet, it will go a lot faster than that, let me know if you want/need some assistance.

Heh, this thread has gotten good :)

Did you clock it to hell to kill it? ;)

LOL, no... I started getting the dreaded triangles of death in "Canyon Flight" - 3DMark06 at stock speeds - went back to Cat 6.9, ran the fan at 100% (which seemed to work), underclocked the memory (which seemed to work)... but in all cases, the triangles would return after a few more runs. :banghead: Straight CCC, they would be there on every run.

I am now a devout NewEgg fan, they were great yet again.

:) and do what with the second one??...force it into the pci slot:laugh: x1950pro is the way to go...

I have a DQ6, which will supposedly do CF.

I'm looking at these choices:
X1950XTX (ATI, C3D, $399)
X1950XT (Sapphire $250, Out of stock, HIS IceQ $279 AR)
X1950Pro ($200)
(2x) X1950Pros CF ($400)

The one single thing that bugs me is the only card having 512MB of ram is the XTX... how much of a difference will this make (now and in Vista)?

it's tough to justify spending all this money on a good PC when its all gonna be low grade garbage a year after you get it!

Yea, the more things change, the more they stay the same~
