So I downloaded project reality a mob for BF2 I used uTorrent to download the file and it check to make sure it wasnt corrupt.

Everytime I try to do anything with the file windows explorer hangs and I have to restart it.

This is the same for the old version of project reality. I cannot delete it.

I have never had this happen.

The files in question are 1.8 GB

It's an .exe right? Explorer probably read its icon (to a cache) when it was a "small" file and now call the quits when it finds "such a big" file.

If you want to delete it, use the console after killing explorer, you can run the console from TaskManager (Application -> New Task -> cmd). You might want to try copy the file to a different location (copy, not cut) and see if explorer can handle it in the new location before deleting it.

You need to manually kill explorer before deleting the file/folder, as it will most probably be the only application that is using it, other than that, well, it depends alot on what you have running on your system, just kill anything that is not required by Windows to run, and if that fails you can use ProcessExplorer to locate exactly which process is using te file (I can give you instruction on this later if you need).

Anyway, sorry about the late reply, I was gamin' :)

Well I found a workaround and fixed the problem! thank you temp2 for your time.

I restarted the computer in safe mode and I was able to delete the files that way.

in this case you can use unlocker it's very good thing to delete files when they cannot be deleted. :) or you can use windows live or linux live cd to do the same.

and i have files ranging upto 80GB...

what file can have such size?

Is you main drive (PROBABLY C:/) formated in NTFS or FAT32? FAT32 has a file size limitation, roughly 4gb. It causes problems as the files get bigger.
