A Question about Upload bandwidth, Latency and Gaming

So basically, I am presently on 1Mbps Upload (getting 1.04Mbps). I have the option of imcreasing this to 2.5Mbps. I was wondering, would I actually see an improvement in latency and in gaming generally, even though the game uses less than 100kbps?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

It would not effect latency. Latency has nothing to do with your bandwidth.

probably not unless you are running a gaming server or doing all the hosting from your Internet connection.

downloading maps or connecting will see an improvment. but the coast is really what will justify the upgrade
