Single Slot Folding Cards (9600GT, 8800GT, GT430 etc.)

Hey,

Need these for folding, for TechPowerUp

nVidia 9600GT 512MB
- Reference
- Green or Black PCB, preferably black
- 1x 6pin
- Single slot
- £30 max (Best condition, box etc.)

nVidia 8800GT 512MB x2
- Reference
- Black PCB, if possible
- 1x 6pin each
- Single slot
- £30 each max (Best condition, box etc.)

I have 2x PCI-E spare, next to each other. So, if you suggest any other cards, they need to amount to £60 max and only require a maximum of 2x 6pin between them (Can spare an 8pin too, but doubtful of getting a card that requires that for £60).

Willing to take offer worldwide.

Thanks, and remember this is for folding.

Hi. I've got a little Zotac gt 430, which i bought a few weeks ago. She's worth aroud 3500 ppd on regular gpu3 wu and 7000 ppd on 9xx wu. Could sell it to you for 65 CAN$, excluding shpping, as i don't know where you're from! I'm also folding for TPU and would be proud to help another folder. PM me if you're interested, or if you have anything to offer for trade.

I've checked the shipping cost, and it would be roughly 25$, so i could lower the price to 40$, so it'd be around 65$ shipped. Sorry for the first post, i didn't checked the shipping cost before posting my offer. I also have the warranty information, the card is brand new.

Shipping from the US/CAN isn't worth it on a single 9800GT, im afraid.

Yes exactly this one. No pci-e connector needed, pretty silent (fan max 60% at any time), even oced to 785/1570, which is the max she wants to work with. I've not found any voltage control software for this card.

Wouldn't hurt to find out the cost or make him an offer. :toast:

Your really tempting me now. How much you looking for, posted. Need to compare it to what i can get a GT430 for here.

I'd rather have two of the same card, and it's better to get the GT430 above, when considering PPD/Wattage

Shame you're in the UK or I probably could have gotten you an 8800GT 512 for about that price :ohwell:

For the price of the GT430?

It seems this GT430 is damn good PPD/Wattage/Price... Might have to get a 2nd. My 9600GT is only managing 4,500PPD and requires 74w, the GT430 gets abit more and requires only 42w.

4500 out of a 9600GT is incredible, mine topped out at about 3500 PPD.

But I'll certainly agree, the GT430 does very nice PPD.

Beware, however, that Fermi cards user far more CPU power than prior cards, so if you're crunching or running SMP, you'll want to keep that in mind ;)

I'm not gunna rum SMP.

Got my 1055T and 5850 for desktop and games. Then the 2x GT430 (to be) for folding only.

So i'll check tonight how much it would be for the shipping.

For the cpu usage, only the 9xx wu are heavy on cpu (6-8% cpu usage as told by windows). The newer ones, which are worth around 7200 points, uses about the same as the gpu2 one, 1-2 % cpu usage. At least that's the way my system is, with 4 gpu folding and a i7 trying to do smp7 bigadv, my cpu usage is 93-96 % (87% for the smp core, and the rest for the 4 gpu client)

I've checked with post services, and shipping would be 22$ for the least expensive (expect 6-8 weeks for delivery). I know that's pretty long, but the next one is 50$, so it's a no go. If you're not too much in a hurry, that would be it : 40$+22$=65$ishh with all taxes included. Let me know what you think of that.

On a side note, i honestly cannot say if my computer is smp folding or not when i do anything but gaming/benchmarking. So you could do some smp folding and get 10000 ppd more, and stop it when you game...

I know i'm addicted to folding!

$22 for 6-8 weeks? Something has to be wrong there. I've got cards in 3-4 days for alot less...

Input folks?

I said that's the CHEAPEST method of shipping: Boat.:shadedshu Yes, it's that cheap. Next step is cheap air, for 50-55, and next the under a week service: 120$:banghead:. If you want to pay that much, go for it! That's pretty much the best i can do, as fedex or ups would be a lot more expensive.

A GTX260 averages just abit more then the GT430, but consumes alot more power and produces more heat. Not to mention it's 2 slots compared to the GT430's 1 slot.

Feanor, what if you were to send it as JUST card in a flat-rate box?
