and your hitting around 240-260 average what more do you want? SSDs are always marketed with there max read write speeds which is rather pointless.

also as for expecting more in games like New Vegas your probably on crack because the game only loads when u quick travel if your walking well it streams the data to ram and since you only walk so fast even the pathetic data transfer rates of USB 2.0 is enough. you wont notice SSD improvements in games unless they do mass data loading examples Crysis or the like.

Also The SSD might benefit Oblivion due to the shitty caching that version of the gamebryo engine imploys but Fo3 and New Vegas with those Ini files i gave you an SSD wont do a damn thing.

mail man you need a punch in the mouth thats about as good as it gets for a Sata II ssd

besides data throughput = useless except in say adobe premiere pro photoshop etc.

the only thing that matters for games is Seek time in an HDD = 12ms SSD=.1ns so games that usually trash a HDD and cause stuttering wont have that issue on an SSD sadly most games ive seen you play dont really trash the hdd let alone ssd so you wont see much difference. but i suggest you install crysis or crysis warhead and load the first lvl first from a standard HDD and then from the SSD and time it. Thats the only way your gonna see any real difference. Just be happy the OS and in general everything will be smoother and a bit snappier.

I run more Photoshop then anything man. That was the whole point of the upgrade.

If this is your boot drive, those numbers are going to a little lower than what the drive is actually providing since the OS will be accessing the drive during the test.

Atto is best for SSDs

My Vertex 2, when I used to have 1 (boot drive) got about 265~270W/280R

idk tbh, but I've always had better performance with X58 for any SSDs. For example, same SSD in a AM3 quad setup got me 10MB/s less in writes.

I'm guessing you are in AHCI correct? Could be the mobo SATA thing is a bit slower

The difference from my results to yours are minimal, I wouldn't fret it

Writing temp files, and write-amplification.

Get yourself a ramdisk set up, point temp files to it. Threads on the topic already in the forum.
