I over-clocked my CPU (E8400) to 4.0GHz today and OC'ed my GPU a bit too.

While running the Win 7 assesment the load was 100% and my core temps went a tad over 100 degrees F.

Is that too hot?
The cores usually run around 72 degrees F when idling or light loads.

Immediately after the assesment test the temps dropped right back down. As in like a few seconds immediate.

Man, I like seeing the 7's in the Win7 Performance screen.
I just don't get the 5.9 disk score...it is a WD VelociRaptor 300. Any thoughts?

That is like 47°C, no where near dangerous or even bad.

And I don't think you will get much over 6.0 on the disk bench without an SSD or RAID0.

OK, I guess that's cool (literally...). Thanks for the input.

What would you recommend for a SSD by the way?

At this point, I wouldn't. Give them another year to mature and come down in price, then start looking at them. They are a nice luxury, but the money can go better spent elsewhere in most rigs.
