Hello,
For those of you who saw my old thread, my rig was recently having some issues. Long story short, my psu is dead. I am going to sell my still-working components to a buddy of mine for his new build. I am looking to build myself a new computer, one in which I will not need to upgrade too much within the coming years (GPU's are a different story, more or less looking at processors). I know that intel has a new socket coming out some time in 2011 but I am not all that interested in waiting for something that outperforms current chipsets by a small margin.
Ideally, I would like to center this build around the 1366 platform. However, if you have a compelling argument as to why I should not, always feel free to state your opinion. I'm looking to stick with 6GB of Ram for triple channel.
Let's see what we can do with a 1k budget to start but feel free to move within the 1.5k range as well. Money is a factor here. However, if I can build a PC in which I don't need to upgrade too soon, I will be more than happy to pay the upfront cost. Overclocking is also a factor, I do love me some overclocking so O.C. friendly hardware please. I am open to used hardware as long as it is proven to perform and not too old.
Thanks in advance for your input!
Things I have already:
HDD
SSD
Heatsink
Disk Drive
and I think that is it.
