Good Watercooling Setup?

Next Friday I am going to pull the trigger on my most ambitious project to date...the famed watercooling loop. Now a lot of you know me and know I am by far not a noob, but when it comes to H2O, I am like a fish out of water I am not going cheap and I want room to expand the loop later to include video cards and full block for the MB (when Bulldozer drops). So here is what I have so far:

I have grabbed extra tubing and fluid for any mistakes I may make along the way, and just to play with additional tubing configurations.

Please advise what changes/revisions need to be made to accomplish my goal of a very sick loop...I know you guys always have the answers.

I am about to head out of the house for an hour or two, but wanted to leave this so hopefully I would have some responses when I get back.

Looks good. Don't bother with the Primochill Ice crap unless you like to clog your loop with goup. Stick with distilled water and nothing else.

you need clamps. take the $40 from the PC Ice and add some of those

i didn't even see that....however no PTnuke or anything like that?


and get hose clamps at autozone or something they cost less there

I've never used the stuff, and my water stays clean. I suppose if your loop comes in contact with sunlight you may need something to keep the bacteria/algae away. I flush things out every.. oh 4 months or so. I did use some of that Primochill stuff once (it was free) and what a mistake.

gotcha i use dexcool now so i no longer need the ptnnuke but without it there was def some algea growth using just distilled water

The reason I chose the thinner rad, was due to the fact I want this to all be internal. I am installing all of this in a CM690II Advanced. The rad will go in the top of the chassis and I am afraid the thicker rad/fans would interfere with the RAM slots on the MB. That being said, do you think it would fit?

Are you saying you use Dexcool antifreeze in your loop? 100%?

Just go with Distilled water. Perhaps a few drops of DexCool, but since there's alcohol in it, it's bad for plastic. PT Nuke would be fine. Really, coolant is to keep things from freezing or boiling and neither will happen in a water cooling loop.

Yea sry pt nuke and distilled water I use dexcool because I freeze my loop a lot benching it chilled.

Is there more than one kind of SR-1's, I wouldn't really call this one slim with it's 54 mm thickness : http://www.hwlabs.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8&Itemid=3 . I thought OP was looking for slim rads. I'd recommend a Swiftech rad, those are pretty slim and performance is good.
