Just to clear confusion - Actually there are capacitors, I've highlighted them in green. They are called High C-CAP.

rare metal means they wont end up on all boards, but they sound like a good investment for the high end boards.

I love Gigabyte for x58. They were the most stable x58 boards I ever had, including th UD7, UD5, UD4 and EX58-Extreme. From what the UD7 went for, I'd bet this board will run close to $400. Out of my price range.

my housemate has the x58-UD5, and his has issues.

its STABLE, sure... but it took them months to make it compatible with G19 keyboards, its got nasty capacitor whine, and he cant enable EIST without heaps of issues popping up.

he may just have a bad board, but around here its very hard to RMA if the board boots to the OS.

I like the looks, but I am thinking some cpu heatsinks might have trouble clearing the mobo heatsinks. They look tall!
