GTX 580 full coverage block suggestions

I just bought a 580 from Darwin96 (great deal, btw), and need to pick out a good full coverage block for it. I'm having a hard time finding any comprehensive reviews.

I'm leaning towards the Koolance, due to it's design using fine fins over the GPU, and the fact that my CPU-360 block performs like a beast. But then, EK's are always nice as well.

Anybody have any other block suggestions or links to performance reviews?

Will go nicely with your 980x.....

why don't you save the money for now and get a good SSD and then get the WB once there are a few more out with more reviews...

any block you use is going to be within 2c of each other, just go with what looks best/ works best for your setup

Thermal perf would pretty much be the same since GTX480 PCB layout, VRM count, gpu heatspreader size is pretty much 1:1 identical to a GTX580.

I want it single slot. Trying to leave lots of space for possible future controller cards/PCIe SSDs and also my sound card. I just like to have the extra space. If I went with an ATI card this round, I probably would have gone the universal route, due to the fact that their display outputs don't allow true single slot conversion.

That said, any others with some input?

I'd just go with the acetal EK block. Performance is good, looks good and they are some of the least expensive.

Koolance and EK are neck and neck so far. Both have acetal/nickel combos and cost roughly the same.

If your going with look.. For the bench style you have.. Koolance would be a nice look onto your system.. EK is good, I have it for the 480.. but.. I still haven't placed any water on the card.. SO.. :roll:

I was wanting to get the aqua 480.. but, they didn't and couldn't give gary a straight word.. even I was "ran around" on it.. Hell.. EK with carbon Fiber.. lol..

koolance has been putting out some very nice waterblocks lately i would recommend them over the design of the EK

I agree, that's why they are on the list. My CPU-360 kicks ass on my 980X.

Aquatuning has a very similar internal design.

But EK blocks are known to be of high quality as well.

Relic in design? So what are the differences that actually matter? From what I can tell by searching forums, people with the EK block on GTX 580's are getting in the mid to upper 40's under load. The Koolance and the Aquagrafix do look much cooler.

the bottom 3 all use the same basic design if you like the looks of the heatkiller get it it looks like it will cool very well.

I understand the fins, but it doesn't make much of a difference in real world performance. 1 mabye 2c maybe? Really, if budget isn't a concern, get whatever looks better.
