Browser filters for pr0n and other >18 sites

Like the title saiz, do you know of any software solutions for W7 and specially browser that not only filter sites, searches, but also some erotic or pr0n pop ups and stuff?
I'm thinking of a 12 years old kid I want to protect from this when he's searching or doing stuff of Internet. He already have it's own account, which I control it with my admin account in W7.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

yep open dns is more effective than apps that installed and it wont make your system slow

You could always leave him be and covertly search his history and have a man to man chat with him. If he knows there is porn out there and he wants to find it, he will.

Discussing the morality of sexual exploitation or the boundaries of 'decency' (which depends on your own standpoint) might be a nicer more open way to deal with it. Tell him you know what goes on with PC's and the web and you'll check the PC for 'dodgy' files.

Isn't good parenting about discussion and coming to agreements rather than blanket censorship? I'm only being obtuse because 'sex' is everywhere and he'll see it whether you like it or not.

this is true, but for a 12 year old, that one popup is going to be very hard to ignore. I think thats the thinking behind a filter.

meh, grab spare pc, load centos, install squid, configure client address acl, configure acl whitelist, configure acl blacklist, order acl's so whitelist is read first. done.

use it for charter schools at work. mind you mine is a bit more stringent than you would likely allow.
