So has anyone here been selected for the beta? If so what do you think of the game?

I never heard of the game until yesterday. Nvidia randomly sent me this beta invite.
As for the actual gameplay, I think it could be a little bit more 'fun'. Your attacks need to mean a bit more or at least do a bit more. The game is a little visually stunning. Nothing too amazing.

Yeah I'm in the beta, and it is pretty fun to play imo. makes me think of Bloodline Champions in some sort of way but cooler

One thing that I thought was cool is it's apparently an online game. I noticed a chat window in the lobby. Should be fun teaming up with other players.

So, any of you that played the beta, is it worth $49.99 for the Limited Edition pre-order? I'm sitting on the fence not sure if I want to take a gamble on it or not. Love Maxis but Spore didn't have enough replay value. I need to know that Darkspore is gushing with replay value before I'm willing to commit.

Eh.. Honestly, that is a hard question to answer. It's basically a hack and slash kind of game. (sorta)
The game can be very challenging. Multiplayer is pretty good. There was just something that didn't hook me on to the game.. It can be very fun and challenging but maybe a lack of content? I still can't say that because I was playing in beta.

Ford, do you have an easy $50 to spare? If you are trying to save money then I would just try to get the regular version.

That's what I was afraid of. It's probably got the same bug Spore and Borderlands has. Yes, there's a great deal of random content in both those games but it's not random enough to add replay value without a great deal of grinding. I doubt that would be changed going from beta to non-beta. I'm leaning towards not preordering it but I still haven't made up my mind.

Limited Edition is the regular version that is pre-ordered. That is to say, a non-limited edition won't exist after the launch day. The price will be the same.

I must warn you though. I had a lot of caffeine that day.

There were a few embarassing moments where my voice would get high pitched! I was getting too excited. I probably should of waited till I was sober. :laugh:

Sorry, I need a summary of at least 10 hours worth of gameplay, not a video of someone playing the tutorial. I've played Spore and the expansion extensively so I know generally how it will look, play, and feel. I just need to know how well they executed the mechanics that ultimately form game addictions. XD

I got to make my decision before the 24th. That gives me about a week to decide...

10 hours worth? Eh.. Those two videos took around a total of about 6-7 hours to record, edit and render. :/ 10 hours may be out of the question. :laugh:
