I would dislike having one, especially for the price difference here in my country, I would rather spend the money on 2x 580's.

Well, you don't deserve one as you went and broke your new toy. You'll have to save up your pocket money for another one now. ;)

IIRC, he bins them once they reach a certain age, or gives them away.

I would rather have a 580 by FAR. No SLI issues and no risk. Plus the current state of PC gaming is nothing but ports. 6990 and 590 are a waste of money.

I'm going to use the term "Nvidiot" strictly in your honor Frick.

It is mainly used by trolls or fanboys of the AMD/ATi camp. I just wish people looked at things more objectively rather than all the bullshit drama. Those that lack intellect will fill the void with emotion.

Power consumption isn't an issue for those of us with really cheap power rates like I have. Therefore an option to turn off all power throttling would be great on all new Nvidia and AMD offerings. That way higher OC's will be more stable with adequate cooling. Except a design like a 590 when overvolting, but I had no intention of doing that.

I guess W1zz is a troll/fanboy because I've heard him say it before. "Nvidiot" is a term for people who blindly buy anything Nvidia without ever looking at the facts. OMGWTFBBQ NVIDIA FTW!

Your logic. IT BURNS! I mean of course. You didn't give the 590 an 11 score even tho it blew up in your rig. Clearly you are a AMD fanboy.

first cases of retail cards blowing up - zotac gtx 590 that is, at stock everything in a well vented machine , running 3dmark 11 - lulz then when nv actually do the 3dm challenge

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=18778252&postcount=84

clocks at 650mhz on stock volts and it blew

http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/2889/quemado.jpg

well holy shit

Ok now it blows at stock volts?!? lol FAIL! But this is an isolated incident correct?

Well that is fail. I would like to know more about it though. Couldn't have been the PSU or something as well?

(i'm not trying to sound like a fanboy, but a card that blows on stock settings is not common and it should be looked into deeper)

Well a few others have been listed also earlier in this thread.

Personally, i wouldn't worry about it, i honestly don't think this is much of a mainstream problem.
