X6 1090t 4.0 oc

I've managed to push my 1090T to 3.9 with just a single voltage increase and it's nice and stable, thing is it doesn't seem to want to go to the 4.0GHZ mark.

I'm very new to adjusting voltages (never needed to on my previous OC) Is it safe with my cooling to push the volts up some more?

What do you mean by single volt increase what are you at now? You should be safe up to 1.45v maybe 1.5v depending on the stepping of the chip.

Current CPU voltage is 1.450V

I wouldn't go to much higher try 1.475v

My 1090t is at 1.412V I believe @4ghz, the highest voltage in bios that's in yellow and not red.
Stable in prime95 for ~6hrs and through all benches

Instead of starting a new thread.. Quick question!

I'm thinking of OC'ing my 1090T with the CPU Level-Up software that comes with my mobo.

It says it can OC it to 3.9ghz, but I would need a better than stock cooler for my CPU first right?

Also, should I bother using that software? It's the ASUS TurboV EVO software.

i like turbo V because what you do in windows with it also changes in bios at the same time

. CPU level up is rubbish just tick the multi up until it doesnt boot and back it down one

Okay, thanks. I've gotta read up on some things first before I do anything and of course I need an aftermarket CPU cooler.. but I do appreciate your help!

or instead of backing down, you can increase your voltage to get it stable, but you may want a decent cooler for that

you can go up to 3.8 on the stock cooler if your cpu can do it under 1.35v - 1.37v anything over that kinda stresses the cooler a bit much

That's pretty impressive for stock cooler. I'm running a zalman cooler but I want to get some water cooling pretty soon. What cooler are you using?

I've read that the highest temps for this CPU are around ~60*C under full load. That sound right to you? Before having read that, Prime95 showed my temps to be around 62*C but without any problems. Think that's safe?
