PSU failing??

hey wassup everyone i have a question how can u really tell when a PSU is failing and need to be replace? i have a 1000 watts ultra x3 PSU.

i have put on another post about my GPU. i had it for 2+ years now(PSU). i am having 5970 crashes and freeze and its been working totally fine for months and all the sudden it giving me trouble

yes i did factory overclocked cpu 3.2ghz stock GPU setting and even took out the physx mod to have only 5970. did memtest cpu stress test and was monitoring hwmonitor for volts

i just recently had a similiar issue with one of my 280gtx's it would randomly freeze up. i tried furmark and occt to stress the gpu and couldn't get a crash, it appeared suddenly then got increasingly worse, upon further reading i discovered i was experiencing the pink screen of death. some how the memory became corrupted from what i understand, i tried re-flashing, reapplying tim, installing numerous versions of drivers. couldn't get it to act as it did just a few weeks ago(normal). I now have a 280gtx paperweight. luckily i had a spare on hand, installed the spare and all is fine once again

as far as i can tell it's no good, didnt really look for a fix since most of the ppl did rma's in the forum i was reading about the pink screen of death. I got the card used in a trade, so i cannot rma.

i still have about 1 year warranty left but i dont like returning things right away not really knowing or understanding whats really going on with the products.

the best option you would have would be to try the card in another known good system and try to achieve crashes/lockup's whatever your problem is. try to narrow it down to the card or not, if the card fails in another good system, i would say rma it.

i have found a quick fix, i severley underclocked the card and all is well, try that. if that works fine, then you possibly have corrupted mem like me.
