Difference between radeon 6950 (HD695XCNFC Vs. HD695ACNFC)

Can someone pls tell me the difference between these 2:

The X one got better cooling, it is created at a later date [it got a game or not i cant remember well]

First link is a non-reference card.

Second link is a reference card.

Since XFX loves to cheap out on thier non-reference designs, definitely go with the card in the second link.

As far as actual diferences the non-reference has a cheaper cooler that doesn't perform as well. Uses less/cheaper power circuitry on a cheaper PCB.

Completely wrong. It is created at a later date, but it doesn't make it better. It's XFX's own design and it isn't very good. I own two of those cards and the cooling is horribly cheap as I stated above.

I have to agree with erocker on this as I have experienced XFX's cheap out on a non reference model I bought.

Sure it looked the part, VF830 Zalman cooler, shorter PCB.
But in the end it still heated up all the same, was quieter, had no fan control, and had a high pitched noise.

Eventually RMAed for a HD4850 reference.

Never choosing non reference again after that experience.

I would recommend you look at HIS

It's reference, has the dual bios switch and a lot less expensive than XFX

I have already one HD695ACNFC, and I was looking to buy another one to crossfire it with... But it seems all the websites I'm looking at are out of stock for this particular product...

Should I crossfire my HD695ACNFC with the HIS (because it is reference model)... I know it will prob work... but I've heard it's always good to have 2 identical cards when crossfiring...

let me know your thoughts on this

Yes, definitely buy another reference model. Brand doesn't really matter as they are all the same cards with different stickers on them.

Warranty does though, so you might want to pick up a card whose manufacturer offer good warranty in your area.

Yes don't touch XFX's non ref cards and just deal with the reference cooler and maybe invest in a 3rd party cooler for it at a later time. Although before changing the cooler make a ticket ( at the XFX website ) and have a chat with them about changing it as this will avoid warranty getting void.
