wait i never said a 6950 could run it maxxed and if i did it was a typo.

i was saying a single 6970 can give the same performance as 2x 5850s in metro 2033, other then that it takes 2x gpus.

In my opinion it has the best graphics I've ever seen on a game; many people choose Crysis for the visuals but I think it's because there's no palm trees on Metro 2033.
I agree. And seeing what cryis would look like on an urban setting with Crysis2, Metro 2033 looks better.

I hear that. I'm afraid the 6000 series just won't have the
poop except maybe the 6990 and no way I'd spend that on a card.

I think it will, but it might be something like a single 5850 plays BC2, turn off HBAO turn AA way down, which honestly if you keep moving, with a high res AA isn't noticeable, and HBAO isn't really noticeable unless you stop and stare. But I do like to play my games pegged to the max.

You had said
the newer 6950s and 6970s with 2gb of ram can push Metro 2033 to the max

which you did have an s at the end, but when I talk about new cards I say stuff like "the new 6950's own", even though I'm talking about just a single card. So I assumed you meant one.

But yeah, thats why I bought my 2GB 6950, I had dual 5850's and I been trying to move to a 2GB setup for a while to future proof.

I would have to agree.

actually even mid range nvidia and high end struggles with Depth of field even more so then ATI, the newer 6950s and 6970s with 2gb of ram can push Metro 2033 to the max, the biggest issue was Depth of Field used nearly 300mb of vram alone, with metro2033 hitting 1450-1500 + at 1920x1200 no aa with dof and tessellation on 4xAA takes it close to 2000mb of vram so the game is a monster in the Vram usage department.

That dx11 DoF is a sin to humanity. Eats up a lot of horsepower, but all it does is make dof finer and accurate.

The standard dof transition was like: clear, immediate cut off, then blur. The dx11 dof was: clear, a little clear, a little blurred then blur. But it wasnt really that much of a day night difference

I'm running it pretty well and haven't seen any hangs yet. The only thing I have turned down is I have it set at high
instead of very high. Looks pretty damn good though. What enviroment is the most taxing on the system ?

By the way the deal is over :wtf:
