Go for the 5850. It's better then the other IMO.

I tested a 460 and a 5870 for a few nights.. Gaming was better on the 5870 then the 460 by far.... Plus the 5850 will clock like mad :rockout:

The GTS 450 is better on paper and certainly safer with the warranty, but it get's a little complicated with the memory bandwidth. It's pretty awful compared to the 260, which I've noticed does have an effect on the quality of the gaming experience. For instance spinning about for the first time on a crysis map can have a noticeable stutter as things load in on a low bandwidth card.

Gaming wise, and at lets say 1080p resolution, i think the gtx 260 could give the gts 450 a run for it's money... 128bit hurts...

Save yourself trouble and get a gtx 460 1gb (or 768 if you're tight on budget). Someone insert here an amd card of same potency. I got my evga gtx 460 768 B-stock for 109 US$ shipped. To canada.

WAY better framerate than gts 450 (i've own both cards), a little hair more hot, and damn does it do the job. I don't know if you oc, so i'll just add that even at stock clock, it is worth it. if you do OC, it is just exceptionnal. From 675 stock core, none of the six i've laid my hands on did lower than 880. 30%. I'll say 20-25% minimum to be safe.

I think the only real option at that price point is the 5770.

I have to agree with you guys! Not only does the 5770 perform great, have DX11, it also will run Hi Def with sound once you decide to upgrade later. Saying that I am referring to installing the 5770 into an HTPC to enjoy games, movies, or streaming video with sound into a large LCD or LED television.

The HD5770 are one of the best bang for the buck cards at the moment, in my opinion.

Another good option, although a bit more expensive,is the 5850 xtreme.
It is worth saving up fo imo considering that it outperforms the gtx 460 1gb and supports dx11.

The gtx 460 is even worse than a normal gtx 460 768mb.Just look at this chart. The 5850 is the best out of all while the SE is barely better than the 5750!

Opt for the 5850. It's quite a bit better.

It also depends largely on what resolution you play. It might be enough a GTS450 even if you will indeed have some probs due to the bandwidth but if you can get at the same price a HD 5770 then it's by far the better solution.

I agree but I like overkill, shoot for a 460 1GB or hd5850. :)

If you can, check TPU's own review.

As others said before me, the 5850 is quite much better.. check performance summary below:

Methinks the OP wants to start a green vs red flamewar and his epic flamebait ended in epic failure.

Rather than posting that because it's probably no use to the OP. Link him/her to one that performs better at the same price range.

Now, in this range of price, you can buy GTX 550 Ti (with luck maybe GTX 560 Ti) or Radeon HD6850/6870. Make an effort and buy something new and good.
