"It's not the same" because a lot of TPU regulars avoid it like the plague.

and i'll continue to do so, because it is not the same.

TPU is the ONLY forum site i use. only one.. GN is not TPU,
It's a different forum, hence - it's not the same. however
you may view that as an "excuse", i could care less.as long as
there are separate username/password, separate listings, post
count, user cp, separate address - it is not TPU. if GN were
a sub-forum and not a separate installation, i'd use it.

I recognize that is not the most logical ... view. however
this is one instance where i am not trying to be logical.
I am simply basing this off my reality, and

the fact is:
i would love a science forum on tpu -
i would not use it on GN.
as simple as that.

People want to be on TPU for all their hardware, software and gaming related stuff. That would also include science.

GN was (and still is) a subforum on TPU, but you can't use it.
The reason for that was that it was constantly filling with absolute crap.
GN became it's own forum so that all of the crap could go somewhere else ... and it did.
The new GN is 99% crap and I no longer use it either.

GPU got spun off as a separate gaming site. It was FAR superior to the gaming section here, but the gaming section here still saw more traffic.

I think the science section (or sub-forum or whatever) is a great idea, but if it's on GN it will be relegated to obscurity and be a waste of time.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

I beg to differ. Maybe the only forum site, but not the only forum.:D

That hurts. I wondered why you weren't around. I guess it's all the crap.:(

The "Hottest Thread" in GN is "What are you doing just now". I rest my case.
But this is not a discussion about the merits or content of GN.
It's to get your opinions on a science section here on TPU.

Not much of a case, since it was very popular when hosted on this site, but fair enough. My opinion still stands, Science at GN.

I say lets give it a whirl!

If TPU goes Super Nova, we just take it back out of existence.

We have the technology.

I think unless science news is added to the front page postings it should be relegated to GN.

Cake is located somewhere between Kreij and I, but only he knows where. Question is, when you find said cake, is he on the hilltop, and do you catch a glint off of his scope before you get to taste the goodness?

The forum is real, the cake is a lie ... stealth contests, however, are not out of the question so read all the threads.

W1z, in Science & Technology forum, the caption text writes:
Latest news in Physics, Astronomy and other sciences go here.
General technology discussions and talk about energy, climate change and pollution is welcome, too.
English is not my native language, but shouldn't the bolded "is" be "are" (since you're referring to plural of discussions and talk) ?

I'm only trying to be helpful, I have only massive respect for W1zzard's work here ;)

You are correct Wyv. Had he not pluralized discussion, the "is" would have been fine.
You are officially more grammatically literate than about 90% of the US population. :toast:
