Full system scanner?

i need a program to check everything on my pc i.e ram hhd gpu cpu for problems i keep freezing and crashing. even on stock i dont get it. i need something to check for problems a eazy program for free or for pay. :rockout:

There is no magic "cure-all", so don't look for one. I would first try updating drivers, running an antivirus scan, and switching components to check for a bad component. One of those should fix your problem.

You can't check everything at once.

Memtest for ram
prime95 for cpu/ram interface
hyperpi for cpu
aida64 for ram and cpu benchmark

And all gpu stuff is here:

edit: to check your hard drive use chkdsk, to check windows files use sfcscannow

Don't forget about OCCT as well, can stress GPU, CPU, PSU. Can do a form of linpack cpu stress as well. I also utilize the above when ensuring stability or testing for intermittent failures/crashes.

my system locks up sometimes and like the cpu thing on my g15 still moves then it snaps out of it or it bsod or just frezzes its a rocketfish 900 watt power unit. or my tv and monitor will flash for a bit then snap out of it. i dont get it

There you have your culprit... rocketfish should be huntkey, and a huntkey PSU is... well...
one big steaming pile of crap.
All of your rig is fine, but it wouldnt wonder me if the PSU cant keep up... after i yesterday read this review about a 1000w generic PSU housing parts that actually could deliver a max of 750w, till the whole PSU blew,and was only safe when using it as 500w PSU... im pretty sure that if you exchange that, your problems gonna vanish

best would be to lend yourself a good, branded PSU if possible, from a friend or so, to see if that will bring change... if the crashes are the culprit and you use, say, a 1000w corsair PSU.... and the culprit vanishes instantly... then you can be pretty sure that it was the PSU...
There are also plug-in testers for PSUs, but most shouldnt be of too good quality.... the best test, is indeed, testing with a part gueranteed to work

i did the hd tune test and my ssd is fine? i cant get memtest to boot from disk what other program can be used to test this? and what is a good brand of psu?

use OCCT with the Powersupply stress test

if that acts up.... you can also be pretty sure i think

that wont help your problems i guess.... how should you know, your PSU is the culprit, if you test on a completely different rig?

i also have to say, that chances are bigger, that before anything blows, your system will rather hang aggressively

but iv herd when ur pus goes it takes ur system with it and if i just buy a new1 i will have a better energy efficiency but what is some god brand names for psu i dont rlly know much about them.

i personally go with pc power and cooling. a lot of people recommend
rosewill, corsair is also a good brand.

go with a lower wattage rating, but better brand and better energy star rating.

i can't see your specs, but i doubt you need 900 watts. most gamers,etc,
myself included , need about 600 watts. go with that and a good brand,
rather than spend the money on a crap brand with a higher rating, that
means nothing.

most regular/office users can go with a 350-400 watt no problem.

a PSU like yours surely can do that, but i have had quite a few generics blow, and never, i had problems with the rig... i dont want to say,that it cant happen... but its pretty rare. As said, i think before that happens, the rig will probably crash anyway.
Yeah, if the PSU you buy, is a PSU branded for efficiency like 80+ bronze,silver or gold, it will also save you money on the electric bill, each month. (compared to the rocketfish)
If you want a good PSU, just buy a Corsair,Pc Power & Cooling,OCZ ModXstream, or Enermax... Corsairs are pretty good for their price, and Enermax pretty expensive but even better (in my opinion)

wattagewise, i would go for at least a 750w unit, to be able to keep it, no matter what HW you gonna get after it

maybe, one day you want something that will pull more
