Ok so basically I just got my second 5770 and the games that I play just cause issues with them.. (BFBC2 and MOH2010). My birthday is in two weeks and I usually get an income of around 150-200$ plus money I have saved and worked for.

I have just gotten my 5770's but I was thinking about selling them for a "CrossfireX bundle" and getting two cards (Capable of TRIFIRE) preferably the 6xxx series. That or keeping my 5770's, hoping that I can get the issue fixed and getting a card for PhysX. Like a 9800GT or a GTS450.

^If that made any sense please give me your opinions.. Thanks InerTia*

if you want an upgrade i guess 450 is better coz it based from newer core, better features and it wont too pricey
btw what resolution you are on? if just medium 450 in sli could handle it

1. PhysX is a waste of money. You don't need it.
2. What kind of problem do you have with the 5770 on BFBC2 and MOH2010? Has the latest driver fixed the problem?
3. Best bang for the buck AMD card would be the 6950's 2GB.

What issues? I don't think PhysX is worth paying money for a separate card. Why don't you buy a GTX570, it should take care of PhysX and there are no hassles with crossfire. As for AMD, at around 360$ you can have two 6850 which if are working properly in crossfire are around 15% above the GTX570.

i would go for a single card with more power, if you want to play BF3, since i see you are a Dice fan.
A GTX460 is always a good choice, and isnt expensive.

I have a quad CROSSFIRE board. I will only buy ATI cards for that system. I was thinking about 6850s. Thanks

I know, I am just stating that I have a quad crossfire board. I really would be happy with two, but I would still like the ability to do trifire.. The issue I am having in games: When I play BFBC2 the explosions in the ground or shadows from trees flicker and its incredibly annoying... As far as MOH goes the screen flickers, like it sometimes skips frames.. I can't play like that.. :(

Probablly a driver issue. CrossFire isn't going to help that. I would suggest you start with an unlockable 6950 and go from there.

I know, I am just saying (Even if I have to disable CFX for those games) I would like trifire for benchmarking and folding. But that is a good idea to start out small and branch out.

Any opinion on the PhysX card? I can get a GTS450 for incredibly cheap (50 bucks) almost new.

Imo, forget about PhysX and instead invest that money into a more powerful graphic card. Remember, PhysX works in few games, more powerful graphic card gives you better gaming in ALL games. So what's more improtant?

There are only a few cards in the new AMD lineup that can be more than a single crossfire link. If I remember correctly there's only one single slot medium-high end card, that may not even be available outside Asia: http://www.techpowerup.com/142574/Single-Slot-Slot-Powered-Radeon-HD-6850-Surfaces-in-Asia.html

Otherwise, you're settling with one of the newer 67xx series cards for tri-fire. For the money, I second the use of a single 6950 (ideally unlocked to a 6970). It gives you the option to upgrade with a second in the future. If you want something awesome right this minute, and are in the USA, check out newegg for a pair of 6870s. They come in at a little under 170 dollars (on sale) a piece, come with a lifetime warranty (from XFX at least), and are surprisingly snappy for their price point.

Nvidea does an excellent job (at this price point) if you're a cruncher, but if you aren't into leaving your computer on 24-7 then stick with AMD. Fanboy antics aside, they hit the medium performance bracket hard and never let up.

Thank you for the information, I know they are really hard to find.. Is the 67xx series even good? Seems like an odd card to me. Besides even if I don't tri I can still look at my extra pointless PCI-e slots :)

Extra Crossfire profiles that are updated more often than Catalyst drivers itself. So you can utilize both cards in more games.

CAP = Crossfire Application Profiles

What do the caps do? Thanks

The driver attempts to run crossfire with fullscreen applications, but it's generally a "compatability" level of tweaking. Slow, and often times doesn't work right, when it doesn't, it just doesn't use crossfire, I've found. (Rift was a big cuplrit here >_<)

CAPS install profiles for the driver to use when it detects specific games (Crysis, portal 2, etc), and tells the driver the best way to render, using crossfire.

Not all games support each rendering type of crossfire, some have major bugs, etc. CAPS are just a precompiled list of how to render each game :toast: Makes a WORLD of difference.

until the profiles get added to the driver dlls themselves

CAPs are to separate profile updates from the driver releases, so you could be way back on at least 10.2 with the latest CAPs from over a year later (but there are some specific cases where fixes are made in the drivers themselves, so CAPs wont help there)

did OP ever state what cat version he's at?? bc2 had flickering on launch, moh i'm not so sure but it was pretty good in the beta

i'm a 4870x2 at 1920x1200, so OP should be getting about the same fps as me (or higher with lower rez), & put vsync on

I play MOH with dual 5850's, 1920x1080 with fantastic performance, using 11.5/CAP1 and 2 (Bug with CAPS2 atm according to @catalystcreator)

5770's shouldn't be far behind.

Sell your 5770's and get a 2GB 6950 like erocker said. I did the same thing, and the performance increase was great. Then, you can get another 6950 later down the road and be balling.
