My #1 rule on financing: if it's not something you need, and you can't pay for it all at once, you probably shouldn't finance it.

A car, sure. A house, absolutely. A computer? Maybe not.

Take it with a grain of salt; My personal opinion.

Hi

Be sure to look at some of the online reviews for scan before trading with them; they make iteresting reading; bad, indifferent & good

nb: I tend to side with the DanishDevil; common sense & wise words

I have no issues with people using credit, but a computer build it really doesn't make sense.
If you borrow $2000 for an awesome build and it takes you 1 year to pay it back, by the time it's paid for it's not top of the line anymore.
Better to save money for a year and buy what's TotL at that time.

Just my humble opinion.

So simple and sound yet you'd be without a computer for a year.

I'm assuming that if you post a question like this you have a computer already, and are looking to upgrade. ;)

Even if you don't you can slap up something half decent with £300. Will take 50 hours of base pay to get that much though. Or if you are super cash strapped, £100 used netbooks can be found too.

What does your mom use her computer for and will some low cost upgrades hold her over until more funds are available?

If you post what she has now, we may be able to suggest low cost upgrades to hold her over until there is more cash available for a new computer.

Your mom doesn't use the computer for anything, but she needs a new one as soon as possible?

I'm thinking you are using your mom's computer and it's not great so you want to upgrade it as soon as possible. (which is a good reason to upgrade mom's computer)

CONFESS NOW !!
We'll still help you even if it's not for the most altruistic reasons.

congratulations, this thread is number 4 result when doing a google search for 'scan finance.'

if your mom absolutely needs a computer but doesnt have the money then pay for it with a credit card that has low interest.

You may be able to do very well using the BST forums here by posting a WTB thread.
Just a suggestion.
I've got some GREAT deals here when people are looking to move items quickly.
