VGA to VGA adapter problem

Hi guys!
I bought a new cable and it seems that the screen has a lot of "motion blur" as seen on
adobe photoshop from the right side. Also the screen is unstable, meaning it moves a lot.
Anyone can help me on here?

why would you need VGA to VGA?

makes sure its plugged in firmly.

VGA is like that if the adaptor is bad, the cable is bad, or they're just loose/poorly connected.

this can also happen if the cable is too long, or if the monitor/cable is getting EMI interference.

tried degaussing the monitor (if its CRT) or hitting the 'auto' button/menu option if its LCD?

It is a cable VGA (for the CRT) to VGA (for the graphic card). The cable now is 2 times longer than the last one, which means this can be a part of the problem, but still i have not solved it. Also, when i scroll down the resolution to 800x600 the text (screen) is not blurry anymore

I think Mussels has it right here, sounds like EMI. Cables are probably cheap (probably missing ferrite cores on them) and with the length doubled they would be more susceptible to interference.

When I tried running 2048x1152 through a cheap VGA cable I got the same blurry image, and reducing res made it get better.

what you mean is you bought a vga extender cable, my guess is the quality fo it isn't up to snuff or it's a used cable that's bad.

in either case just take it back to where you got it from and say it gives blurry picture.

Yep, more than likely the case.

In fact, a lot of times there is fine print on the VGA extenders saying "Not recommended for resolutions greater than 1024x768", sometimes they don't recommend anything above 800x600. Though sometimes they don't have any warning like this. The VGA signal just can't go that far, and the higher the resolution the more EMI will effect the image.

LOL yup like with any analog cable the quality of the cable is important. Probably more so than HDMI or DVI cables. Don't use a longer cable than you need to use and cheap cables lack good shielding and like someone mentioned ferrite cores. Interference isn't uncommon on high frequency analog video like VGA. You'll get ghosting and all kinda crappy junk like that! Toss that tosh and get a decent cable at the correct length you need.
