Hi.
I have a Sony Vaio 17'' laptop with the following specs:

Windows 7 64-bit.
Intel core i5 m460 @ 2.53 GHZ ( 4 CPUs) ~2.5 ghz
4096 MB ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.

I don't know if i should post more specs, but that's what i got from dxdiag.

Anyway, I have been checking out your forums, and i have to give you props, the info is awesome.
However, I have come across a problem while trying to OC.
When I run ATI tools, clockgen, or systools, it seems that they cannot find my driver.
This is driving me insane, since I play WOW and i get very poor FPS, and while I know that it is partly because my laptop is not made for gaming, I think i can get more.

Note : I run them all on administrator, I have rebooted after installing/deleting the drives.

Also..I've checked this thread :

Might this be my problem? I know I don't have a dell video card, but my video card might be locked or something..

Thanks in advance!!!

I honestly don't think OC'ing that chip would yield any realistic gains. That is a low-end graphics chip, and it's not really made for playing intensive games. You may want to try reinstalling the latest mobility drivers. That would probably be the best bet.

I don't understand the part where you said "I have rebooted after installing/deleting the drives." Are you referring to the video drivers?

I don't have any first hand knowledge on whether or not that chip is OC'able, but if it's "locked" it's probably at a bios level. You could potentially flash it with a new bios, but I wouldn't mess with that. Not worth it for that card IMO. Other people may disagree though.

I see, thanks for your feedback.
What I meant by "I have rebooted after installing/deleting the drives." is that after installing mentioned OC utilities, i rebooted/installed.
I don't know if it matters, but I saw in an old thread that it did.

By the way, about the mobility drivers, I try to look for better/recent drivers for my chip but it only shows one result: ATI catalyst.

ATI Catalyst is exactly what you want. It's the ATI/AMD driver suite:

This is what you want.
