Hi.

sorry Moonpig, gotta love your layout :p!

What to know

-Price excludes postage, you choose it
-Bank Transfer is the preferable payment method, Paypal is acceptable
-Thread is located on TechPowerUp and Aria Forums
-These items are review samples which have had very little use, just the review. If you have a problem with me selling them, PM me and I will inform you on the situation :)
-PM me with offers
-All items should have their standard manufacturer warranty, but obviously i dont have a receipt for them
-I have plenty of feedback elsewhere such as Aria forums and HUKD (lucas4)
-Pointless me posting to other non-EU countries (e.g. US) as these items are heavy and expensive to post. If you really want international postage on an item though, PM me :)

I will trade multiple items or add cash for a 60+GB SSD for my oldish laptop, not bothered about the SSDs speed too much. Not really looking for other trades, but feel free to offer :)!

Picture is very old but proves i have it. Can get a new one if needed.

Awesome fan controller! 30W per channel, VFD display, can turn fans to 0 RPM for a silent PC, temperature sensors and readings, temperature threshold alarms. Epic fan controller!

Everything is included.

Prolimatech Megahalems Rev. 1 CPU Cooler

Picture is rubbish and old, i know. Can get a new one if needed.

Never been used by myself. Given this from a friend but doesn't fit my 1155 motherboard as it is the LGA 1366 / 775 version. The AMD or 1155/1156 clips are fairly cheap to buy though.

Everything is included AFAIK. No fans as per usual.

Not sure tbh.

All of the RAM and VRM heatsink are individual not a massive heatsink covering many components. there are also some low profile heatsink. Only problem I can think of is clearance but the low profile heatsinks should solve this :).

If u have a pic of ur card's PCB, post it up and il see if I think it fits :).

At a quick glance it looks fine.

when I am on my pc later, il have a more thorough look for u and highlight the areas that certain heatsinks could be used :)

had a look mate and here is what i have come up with.

asus eah5870 v2 edit.jpg

asus eah5870 v2 cooler edit.jpg

On the card itself:
  • the red circled is the RAM which is easy to cool and is supported. these are easy to cool with the supplied heatsinks.
  • The green and pink circles indicate some type of power delivery/regulation (i think) components which may need cooling as i have outlined on the cooler itself (with a "?") where they seem to be using thermal pads to cool them. these should be fairly simple to cool with the supplied low profile heatsinks.
  • the green circled section indicates chokes (i think) which arent cooled by thermal pads, but more likely by the metal of the asus cooler directly touching them. these may be awkward to cool with supplied heatsinks, but im not sure if they actually need specific heatsinks as incidental airflow may be good enough..
  • the red squared section defo needs cooling as outlined where i have circled the thermal pad on the cooler itself entitled "power delivery". this should be easy enough to cool with supplied heatsinks.
  • the blue squared components look as if they need cooling but i think it would be awkward using the supplied heatsinks due to the number of heatsinks already used.

and here are all of the accessories that you can use to cool your card's components. 10 RAM/WRM sinks, 4 VRM sinks and 2 low profile RAM/VRM sinks.

here is my card with all of the necessary heatsinks applied.

as you can see, my reference 4870 needs far less components cooled.

the 5870 fits as it has the same mounting hole position as my 4870 (according to a DeepCool instruction manual). as your card is non reference but has so many extra features and components that need cooling, im gonna be honest and tell you that it would be a pain in the arse trying to cool everything with this T-RAD2 :(! with so few heatsinks supplied, it is really designed for either reference cards which are listed as supported or cut-down non-reference cards with fewer vitally cooled components.

i have something else that u may be interested in though :). il PM u :)!

If t-rad is still about when I'm paid I'll have it, been after one for a while running them in passive mode with decent side panel fans was one of my favorite set ups cooling wise.

I recently sent a gelid tranquillo 2nd class recorded for £3.92 so hopefully it will be towards the £3 mark for the trad2 :).

Will pm details wen on my pc not phone :).

No sorry, I borrowed 92mm fans from another cooler for the review. I found a single 120mm fan to offer better overall cooling performance anyway as it kept VRM temps lower.

I Have plenty of 120mm fans if u need one?

That's cool thank you I've got plenty of 120s, forgot I could attach them to it TBH.

I imagine I'll take off the fan attachment brackets and run it passive anyway as I'm only running my card at stock clocks at the moment.
