I had a chance to test some px200 for several occasions, they didnt impress me at all in style or sound, i could compare them on the spot against my sony ex90 playing from a sony walkman and there was quite a difference, actually there where like 6 different Sennheiser cans of all sizes formats and prices, up to 200 or so €, all of them dissatisfied me, for some reason i didnt like the way they look feel and sound...

Also i use at home one pair of sony mdr-v900hd cans, the build quality is very superior to anything ive seen from Sennheiser and comparing audio quality, i had a chance to run several cans models from my own walkman at an apple store, im not sure i run the px from it, the only model that pleased me amongst perhaps over 10 cans was an B&W model i had never seen and i would love to compare with my 900HD...

Also while auditioning other small cans, i tried the small akg that where just at hands reach and it was rather enjoyable for its size, specially after being disappointed with the px...

Id also like to add that i tried the normal dr beats and found them average, but next to them where the bigger beats heavier but more comfortable and better sounding...

Sorry for the rant, but every time i read an headphone's review, i get the urge to start writing stuff...

By the way i bought my 900hd from ebay for 30€, people tell they are fake, but build quality is great and the only cans i could test that could match it are the beats pro (i like this model a lot) and the B&W (great visual, comfort and sound) and these cost 300€...

Im by no means an expert but i like the best audio possible (for the least money)...

end of rant

V900HD is great, but i think for 30euros, its most likely to be fake.

i prefer the sony CD900st though.

i prefer the sony CD900st though.

Thats the thing, they might be fake, but like i said the build quality is fantastic and the sound quality on par with 300€ cans i tested, i also had some mdr-v700DJ, they where great, lots of bass and power, but when i bought the 900HD i never looked back, they are more clear and have better definition, less bass but really good bass when they need...

The CD900st are professional and probably newer than the hd's, they are not all that expensive, at least on amazon.jp, i would like to try them out...

tried cd900st once, totally clear treble, i bet you like those if you prefer treble over bass.

its quite cheap even here, but its a bit hard to find nowadays.

anyways, the PX200-ii is a total upgrade from the original PX200, SQ wise and built quality wise,
i've tried almost all of sennheisers line up, and the best sennhiser setup i've heard is HD598 plugged into an Eddie Current Zana Deux amp,

@dj : the V900HD also for professional use, and i think its an upgrade to the reputable MDR-V6

I remember a review on headfonia, this model is very popular in japan as a monitoring can the 900HD is also marketed as a studio headphone but the cd's seem more professional and i think they share some similarities...

I dont like to much treble either, i like balanced, enough bass that doesn't muffle the sound and not to much treble, actually i do love bass when im listening to trance i love a deep low bass, but if it lack mid and high range then it sounds muddy, a good example sony mdr-xb 500\700 the 500 are horrible, the 700 are an improvement but not very balanced (had the chance to drive them from my walkman and listen a varied choice of songs)...

a quick search on amazon for cd900st showed they are only available in japan, sony is now selling the z1000 as their flagship, and speaking of new models, im planing to replace my aging sony mdr-ex90 for the ex510, sound on the ex90 is quite good but they are starting to fall apart and soon glue wont be enough...

About sennhiser i havent tried a model that i can tell i like, the good sennhiser stuff is not available easily, specially in a place i can audition them...

I personally know the writer of headfonia :D, he's a great guy, who likes lending all his things to his friends,

if you love bass but without being muffled of muddy, you can get the ATH-M50, or if want better, get the DT770/80,
both give big deep bass, without even disturbing the midrange,
the midrange still sounds clear and detailed, not muddy like XB500/700

i personally own both of i mentioned above, and i think its suited for your needs,
