Well I still have a crossfire 4850 1gb setup so I know too they kick ass when crossfire works :). A lot changed in two years regarding crossfire though. The reason I got 5870 two years ago was the lower power consumption and the lack of crossfire related problems.
Now I got a second 5870 and crossfire seems to be matured. No serious problems so far.

I remember playing quake2 when it just came out, and I didn't have a decent graphics accelerator. Then I got a Voodoo 3 3000 a year or so afterwards (i think) and played via OpenGL @ 1024x768 on a 17" CRT and it was BEAUTIFUL. It completely rocked my world, and I spent days on end fragging.

Yeah, but the don't even follow their own criteria. They picked the 9700Pro instead of the 9800Pro/XT. If they are going by the best performing card per generation, then the 9800Pro/XT should be the winner, not the 9700Pro.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but it looks like they went by the first version to come out. I think, lol. They certainly mention the 9800 in the 9700 entry.

Tell u the truth I had both the 9700 Pro AIW and the 9800 Pro AIW n I preferred the 9700 Pro, it just seemed faster even tho the clocks on the 9800 Pro were higher
