Op Metro is probably going to be one of the smallest mp maps in the game, yet it is still bigger than probably all of the COD maps. The map does favor close quarter combat like COD does for all of its levels. DICE really needs to make Caspian completely public soon so everyone can see what a real BF map looks like and also show the teamwork and strategy involved in playing(plus the awesome graphics!).

This is only the beta here and bugs are expected and honestly the server overload due to the immense interest in the beta was expected as well. The fact that the game looks so good and the full graphics aren't even implemented in the beta makes me wonder how well it will look in DX11! I'm confident there will be a bunch of patches done fairly quickly to address most of the issues brought to their attention during the first few weeks of the game or maybe during this beta.

I dont feel like its CoD at all. One thing that blows my mind about this game is the sound. Ive never played a shooter where it feels like im in a real battle from movies like the Hurt locker, Saving Private Ryan, etc. Also thing that CoD definitely doesnt have is guns with recoil and bullet spread.

Most snipers in game are not helping the team just racking up personal kills, they do not support the other players. For example your playing conquest the idea is to take a point and capture it not hide and rack up kills.

I dont think the problem in the OP will personally put me off buying the game but they should tone the glare down.

If you feel like cancelling your pre order then go ahead that's up to you.

When I play recon, I do participate. I move to the proper zones, spot, and cover my teammates while they take point. I also spot other guys and call in air strikes. Pretty much playing sniper.

I notice significant bullet drop with the rifle that I use. Not much for wind.

I myself have fired a few rifles, and even some with scopes. The one thing I've never seen in real life however is scope lens glare.

I hope everything is fixed and this is just a shitty beta build. Unfortunately it does not always work that way. It sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

I am so digging the 'lens flare' isn't realistic argument.

Neither is running across a battlefield and popping up and down from camping sights with what is a precision engineered weapon. Sniper rifles require a lot of tlc. Also, real field use of sniper rifles requires a hell of a lot of practice and talent.

Close quarters shotgun combat requires guts with some skill. Shooting your enemy across a battlefield requires a lot of hard practice (which isn't really hard to do in a pc game). The sniper is the most over rated weapon in BF (and most games). To fire a kill shot at 1+ km is very hard especially when factoring in wind conditions and the targets mobility.

As far as I'm concerned the unrealistic lens flare balances out the complete unbalance of the weapon in the first place.

Go play COD. Snipers were never a problem in 1942, Vietnam, BF2, or BF2142. But now all of a sudden snipers have to get nuked so they are useless. Because that seems fair right? take away the fun of people who like to play recon. Put a giant "Shoot ME" arrow over their heads.

How about vehicles that spawn out of thin air? If you want realism go play ArmA. Battlefield isnt what I call realistic at all. But I still play it though. But yeah.. that scope glint is crappy. Even if the sniper was facing sideways.. scope glint. lol

Its not about realism its about fun. And some things have been nerfed so bad it is detracting a lot of "FUN".

but you were shooting the rifle not standing at 100 yards away in front of it. Sometimes you might see a glare somethings not, even some snipers in the sun will see a glare just looking into the scope. It all depends on the scope though really.

I dont think DICE would fuck up that much which so much support from the community to make this game unbelievable. Even the E3 videos you can tell that the beta build is nothing like the real build.

There is a hardcore mode where all of the "extra unrealistic stuff" is removed. Just like in BC2. Even then it's a video game. You think real battles take about 15-30 minutes, then you take a break? Some things just don't translate from real life into the gaming world.. Really, with this mindset, they should get rid of respawning too. Completely unrealistic. Respawning is more unrealistic then say some lens flare flashlight or some dot marker over your head and actually both things are doable in real life through technology (HUD's etc.)

I personally don't think this game is anything like COD or MW. I've been a die hard BF fan since the start and I know this game is going to be awesome.

I absolutely HATE RUSH mode. I only play Conquest. Visually this game is awesome and we are not even seeing it at it's best. And I agree this game has the very best audio I have heard in a FPS game to date. Absolutely awesome.

I'm so pumped for this title that I can hardly sit still.

The glare doesn't bother me but I'm not a recon player so I don't mind. I get killed often by snipers in the beta and most of the time I never even see the 'glare'. The only time I see it is in the tunnels. It looks just like a flashlight. And outdoors when I'm closer to them or they are not hiding in a bush...

I dig the red laser sights. The first time someone pointed one at me my vision was all blurred with a red light and I think that was awesome. Adds to the gameplay mechanics for sure.

Anyways...if they can impress me this much with a game mode I will never play after release then I am sold.

I took the scope off my Mosen nagant and had my room mate aim the scope at me as I walked varying distances away. I could see no "glare" at any distance with the scope aimed at me. The sun was even on my balcony and still no glint. They only way I was able to get it to "glint" was to aim the scope directly at the sun and then angle it so it would reflect sunlight in my face.

My point is its very hard to get even a cheap modern scope to glint and only if you are purposefully trying to get it at that perfect angle.

Now I'm not saying I want realism I can play BF2 Project reality if I want that. I just feel it is unfair that snipers have this nuclear sun powered flash light that works even when they are UNDERGROUND. I like to play as an engineer, recon, and support and I feel the recon has been made useless. If they reduce the glare by 98% is might become fair.

Which is the only mode I'd play anyway. HC is the only mode worth playing imo.

I think once you play on a larger open (typical BF style map) you might have a change of heart. And if Hard Core mode removes some or all of the stuff you dislike then ...you might find yourself loving this game.

I honestly don't see the difference. I like BF3 so far. Really, you should be addressing EA with this I guess. Have you played a hardcore server in BF3 yet? Have you played the Caspian Border map yet?
