this looks like a 80mm or 90mm fan (LOUD) - at least good that this will be as only option and intel can do what ever they want with this pricing, but there will be lot more third party coolers with better preformance, sound and of course with better price (it is intel - come on!)

Am I the only one to wonder : what about the SURROUNDING components?

Current Intel MoBo design BLATANTLY depends on the outward radiation of air from the generic circular cooler to blow on all of the surrounding ships (Edit : and even CHIPS ) such as the voltage regulation chain.

With this as spec there will be, by design, NO airflow around your CPU socket.

Yeah "..blah blah overclockers will have extra fans blah blah idiotrant.." - but if this is a STOCK cooler, a lot of NOT OVERCLOCKERS will also land up with it? Sooooo what happens to the thermal load on your VRM's? I'm just say'n....

+1 mate, i point for that last time when i see mobo disgin, specially the some models come with 4 memory slots on every side, so i was say for people who think about X79 should be overclockers-useing watercooling system(not intel stock WC)-best full tower case with best air flow(fans on front,side,top,rear)-and ready to waste some money.

when there was news about AMD thinking of the possibilty of shipping high-end FX with watercooling , every AMD haters were ready with comments like : fx must be overheating ahahah, fx this , fx that ....

Intel doing it : oh nice !

Well thats funny - of the 6 posts previous to yours, only one was complimentary to Intel.

I have no faith in the pumps of these units. Had an h70, the jet plate got warped and was hitting the impeller giving a crakity sound

I think everyone and there mother knows that a custom watercooling setup's performance is better... Anyone that's ever bought a high end processor from Intel knows that they put a nice cooler in with it. It's not better than a Highend cooler from say.. "Prolimatech Inc", but it is good enough to use and have some room to overclock. I say this is probably about an even trade over Intels highend air coolers that ship with there highend processors. :toast:

I reserve my judgement until prices and more importantly performance reviews are done on it. Until that... meh

Here's the rumored prices for you. They might be wrong, but it's better than nothing.

I dont think the fan is a 80 or 92mm. MOST PC cases these days have places where you can mount a 120 or 140mm fan as standard - so to put a 80 or 92mm fan on the cooler would throw us back in time quite a bit not to mention the nightmare of needing a 120/140mm to 92/80mm shroud to be able to mount the cooler in your case, its just stupid.

-----

The coolers used look like rebadged Antec 920/620's. Im not sure about the 620's performance, but as a 920 owner i have to say i am more then satisfied with the performance. slap some Sythe GT's on there and you got a winning combination.

Getting jacked is how the entire PC enthusiast market is structured. Press enter to be jacked up.

Not sure why this sort of cooler would be exciting to true OC enthusiasts...perhaps to the entry level PC nut these would have a certain OEM no hassle appeal...but for anyone that has already dabbled with high end cooling these little coolers are not even on the radar of improvements to make before going nuts on an OC.

SKT1155 CPUs don't need "aftermarket custom watercooling" though. SKT2011 could very well be much of the same(although I question this with the 15MB chips). A $89 Corsair H70 is more than enough to max out most chips, so why would you bother with a high-end cooling solution, except for looks?

I mean, I understand your perspective, as previously, custom watercooling had a noticible benefit in clocking, but not so much, any more.

TDP of 1155 chips is 95W...that means they only need 95W of cooling, not that they consume 95W. As I've said before, most hit 4.5 GHz @ about 125W, maybe needing 150W of cooling. How many watts fo heat can a good custom setup handle?

well , thats funny ...

I think the reactions are more based on this being old news, and the only new info caontained here is that the cooler has some fancy lights and a LED fan. Those same responses you are looknig for were in the orginal thread that contained the info that INtel might be using AIW watercoolers. I don't see much of the opposite reaction in postings about the AMD watercooler either. Seems like you're not happy unless someone is complaining?

Fan boy? Nope. Just prefer to not get bent over for a processor.

These benchmarks are useless without the final BIOS and program updates for the final release of the cpu. Even Windows has a update comming out for it. That said unless it's a benchmark after release I'm not buying it.

Also I'm done defending and this is the wrong thread for it. PM me if you'd like to have a pissing match.

How can you say too expensive, there is no priceing info.

given there is no pricing info you can't make any claims about price rape. :nutkick:

are you speaking of amd or intel? Either way I've seen "leaked pricing" on both. Will verify with a link if you'd like. Whatever though in general AMD wins the price for performance war.

"leaked" prices are rarely accurate, and not official thus not reliable or relevant, let alone the fact your talking about processors in a thread about a cooler. Please think before you post and start a pissing match.:nutkick:
