Laptops that support two hard drives?

My boss is looking to buy a laptop, I see a few in the $600 range that would suit his needs. These all come with traditional HDDs though, and I'd like to buy a SSD separately and install it for programs and the OS to run off of, and use the HDD as storage. Are there laptops that have room for two internal drives? How do I know if it has the space or not when shopping for them?

I've recently heard that there are laptops with space for both 2.5" and mSATA.
There you could get mSATA SSD and keep 2.5" HDD.

Can't help you with exact model though.
I doubt that you'll find a laptop with two 2.5" drives.

There are, they tend to be big, bulky and expensive. Also they are around €700 here, so it might be above your price range.

There are some cheap Acer 17.3" models out there on Newegg that have 2 drive bays, but only include 1 hard drive and no mounting hardware for the other one (although the port is there). Many buyers have successfully ordered the mounting hardware from Acer and put a second drive in there.

The 15,6''+ Toshiba Satellite laptops usually come with 2 drive bays(only one occupied by default) and are relatively cheap.

Scratch that. I had a look through their site and it seems they've stopped doing it.

Yep, my late 2010 16.0" Satellite A665D only has one HDD bay.

Acer/Gateway is probably your best bet because they have the cheapest 17-18" laptops, and are almost always guaranteed to have 2 HDD bays at that size. Always look at the reviews of course before picking one.

lenovo y570 has an mSATA slot for mSATA SSDs, I have one, and it works awesome.

Dell 6500 has 2 Hd slots.
Expensive laptop's but they are very fast..

You could always put a HDD in were the DVD drive goes...
