Hi,

Need you opinion...

I lost a deal ($90) on a Ga-970a-ud3 since the provider got out of stock :ohwell:. The memory (Muchkin 1600 C7 blackline) that I have was supported by this mobo.

I am stock with these choices:

  • Asrock 970 Extreme3 : VRM 4+1 phase (aw some discount at $105 rather than $140)
  • Gigabyte Ga-970a-ud3 : VRM 8+1 phase (Full price $120)
  • The M5A97 from Asus ($95) looks good but it is picky on memory and the VRM might not be powerful enough.

I need a mobo:
  • to overclock and unlock an x2 555 at 3.6MHZ
  • with a good control features on fan and good energy saver feature
I don't need:
  • crossfire or SL1

Which one is the best : Asrock or Gygabyte?

That's actually not true. It's a 6+2 design and runs rather on the cool side. I will be honest, i do like the Extreme3 ;)
