Sealed/Filtered ATX Case Recommendation (To sealed off/lessen dust build up)

Recently my HP Pavilion died (2000-2011) and I'll be building a new one. Every 2 years I change my HP PSU since I use generic ones and the dust is unbearable, I can barely see the mobo and I think a newly evolve species is living inside there. Since it'll be a PC that will be running 24/7; I need a case that is sealed enough or with filters with less fans to lessen the dust build up. It's going to be a really low-spec machine with ultra durable mobo, so the heat won't be that great.

My Lian-li lancool pc-k7b stays nice and dust free, despite having 4 dogs and sitting on the carpet floor. The washable air filters that come in the front really keep out the dust.

or you can make it sandwich >> mosquito net.pantyhose.mosquito net.
it would make your dust filter solid and last longer

I always went through the pain in the ass of putting those on each fan, never even crossed my mind to go that route.

I'll look into the netting. The nice thing about pantyhose, besides being cheap (when dirty, throw it out), is that it fits nicely over small to mid-size cases. But I can see the benefit of making a heavy-duty net/panty cover that can be rinsed clean.


Yeah, cleaning several individual fans can be a pain. On this system I reversed the rear fan. Has a decent CFM so it keeps positive pressure in the case so it's the only one I clean (air-can once/week, take off and rinse once/month).

Unfortunately for the OP I don't have a suggestion for an easy to clean case if your house is like mine. I just try to minimize the build-up and have an air-compressor to clean out my systems when needed. Especially my own system (Lian-Li PC17). Panythose doesn't fit over it, and a single intake fan wouldn't really work with this case.

Ripping up carpet and routinely changing the filters in your HVAC system will really cut down on dust. combined with regular house cleaning. (at least once a week, although homes should really be swept every day in high traffic areas).

I lived in many different places, and with many types of people, DUST generally means unhealthy living. As in if you PC gets very dusty, you might as well be a smoker.

I am living in a high dust house (200 years old, and get sick every time the heat kicks on (no central air thank god) with furniture and carpets that are least 10 years old. Plaster walls in most of the house, wood heat as much as possible (huge stove no fireplace) but not humidity controls, and in the warm weather the house gets "opened up"

so yeah, not healthy. and my PC gets dusty as hell DESPITE having filtered intakes. (its just a finer dust that is harder to clean that makes it through the filters)

Actually my unfiltered PCs have lest dust accumulation, believe it or not, guess because of the lack of restriction the dust gets blown right back out??

I think that's a bit over kill but still a brilliant and an economical one.
And I never thought of using panty hose since I came up with a slightly expensive one, speaker screen mesh. More neat looking.

How about this ones they use for fan noise testing. Is it sealed? The case looks neat.
